“Avoid at all costs!”

Booked here with a party of two other families for the Easter bank holiday weekend. We all booked silver caravans so we could all be situated near one another. When we arrived we were told we couldn't check in until 4pm by very unfriendly reception staff so we waited for half an hour with every other person waiting to checked in. By this time there were various other people coming in from the 2pm check-in complaining about their caravans. Obviously, overhearing these complaints we all started to feel very apprehensive about what we would find.

Once we had the keys to our caravans, we were pretty alarmed at the state of all three of them. Floors were filthy, no hot water, ants on the work tops of one of the caravans. None of the TVs worked, cigarettes outside the caravan, dirty pants left in one of the single bedrooms, fires didn't work. Toilet bowl had feces all around the loo bowl and wall of the cubical, dirty windows with sticky handprints, one of the caravans had a drainage problem. We decided to go over to the reception to complain but was greeted with a very unpleasant reception manager, she didn't even bother to apologise and just called the head cleaner to go and inspect only ONE of the caravans!

There was no entertainment during the day for the children as advertised in the welcome pack, bearing in mind this was Easter this was very disappointing. When we quested this, we were told by the children's entertainer that it wasn't "her day" (even though it is advertised there is entertainment every morning!) but she would try to find something to do. In the end a game of plastic bowling was set up. The following day, the Manager overseeing the club house had a complete and utter melt down when asked if he could put on some up to date relevant music for the children. It was children's hour but they were playing slow 80's music. He shouted he "hated his job and was sick of people asking him for requests!". The next night the lady who was responsible for overseeing the children's entertainment broke down crying when up on stage introducing the children's bunny because she was "ill and overworked".

Lastly, the children's play area by the club house is extremely dangerous, I have added pictures.

Overall this resort is filthy, with staff moral problems. I would never ever return or recommend. Avoid!

Room Tip: Avoid caravans in the "Gardens" area.

Sorry I have taken my time to review, you kindly opened the park early when our original holiday park was flooded. All staff including the maintenance men, entertainment staff and the reception staff made us feel special - my grandaughter loved dancing with Loopy and all in all a great time was had by all.

Just got back from a 3 night bank holiday break, well I now know what happend to the Dale Farm residents. Every night the clubhouse full of gypsys, kids fighting each other, stealing money, smoking in the toilets which was not nice taking a 2 and 5 year old to. They are running the place, even the music is tailored for them. Felt uncomfertable so didnt stay all night in the clubhouse. Security a joke, not once asked to show our passes so anyone could be on site. Very badly lit site, was in a gold plus caravan which was no better than a bronze at a push. Couldnt get in the pool, one in one out basis. Overall all staff very rude other than reception especially lifeguard. Childrens play area a joke. I will never stay with this company again. I have given the place 1 star as we made the most of hastings and rye.

I booked a gold 6 berth caravan for the Easter Break,, We are grandparents,my daughter and two grandchildren aged 7 and 3..My parents owned a caravan here 25 years ago,,It had beautiful grounds, was very well maintained and was on the quiet side.I wanted to revisit but have very mixed feelings over the place now..
On arrival we had an hour to wait till 2pm so had something to eat in the bar.The food was ok=ish but certainly nothing to write home about.. We collected our key just after 2 but then had to hand the keyback for a further half an hour for some reason.. Finally were given a map to find our van.. On first impressions it seemed every single available piece of space had a caravan squeezed into it..there is not parking outside the vans, although some people did, but there is not enough parking spaces at all, this proves difficult when un loading..Eventually we found our van at the back.I was disappointed to find the metal steps quite wobbley and unsuitable for little children. There was a small garden that someone(probably the previous owners) had lovingly planted but was now thoroughly overgrown etc.The grass was unmown and the picnic table had many cigarette ends underneath it.
The caravan was spacious and the bathroom/ensuite/kitchen areas were cleaned and spotless. The living room, again wasvery spacious with a large tv..etc. On a negative note.... we were a party of 5.. there was a free standing table but only 4 CHAIRS...Plus there wasnt a coat hanger in any of the wardrobes.. I didnt think this was upto scratch ,but reading other reviews it could have been worse.
We went to use the swimming pool but people were lining up to get in,and we couldnt wait any longer so went out instead.
The park still has a lovely lake surrounded by owned caravans which look lovely..At the entrance and some places around the site are huge roddodendrams .These were always splendid when in bloom. It seems to me that its turned into just somewhere to make more money by squashing more vans into spaces and not enough money and time keeping the green areas tidy and well maintained and ensuring all caravans are clean and well maintained..Ithink its a shame that the site is not upto scratch (in my opinion)because it wouldnt take much vision to make it so!!
Im not sure we would visit again, although Hastings is a lovely family holiday area, and money has been spent on the front, which includes a lovely park area, crazy golf etc. There is lots to do in the surrounding area also...

Booked an eight berth caravan for my family of 2 adults, 2 kids 5 and 7 and my brother, his partner and their 2 kids 4 and 6 as we do two or three times a year and was extremely disapointed, my brother arrived first and checked in and we joined late that evening, once all 8 of us were inside it was immediately apparent how small the caravan was and we have stayed in lots of sites together before all over the country! The caravan was also filthy and I had to clean it myself, arriving late we wanted to go straight to bed but upon pulling out the sofa bed we discovered there was no mattress, reception was shut, so we tried the park wardens mobile a number of times but it was switched off! We were forced to use the sofa cusions to make a makeshift bed on the floor and sleep on that! The following morning I reported the missing mattress and was told they would send one down but by afternoon I had to chase again and they finally came with one early evening! We took the kids to the morning entertainment and was told it was a scavenger hunt each family were given a list of items to find the family who found the most won a certificate however the list contained mostly items of rubbish like empty crisp packet, empty sweet wrappers, bottle tops, a match (because we all want our kids playing with them) with a flower, a leaf and a stone for good measure, its was a joke free labour making the kids clean up previous guests mess! Day 2 we had to call maintance as we had no hot water, the kids couldnt really play outside as the caravan was on stilts which had metal and cables and other dangerous objects exposed, the caravan doors had no catches and when the wind blew it nearly took out the kids a few times, the other people were a nightmare, a lot of miserable old caravan owners who expect complete silence, one of whom screamed in our kids faces when they were outside our caravan skipping and laughing, the people in the caravan next to us let their kids play dance matt on the computer till 1am however the vibrations from all the jumping made our caravan shake and felt very unstable at times, the swimming pool was busy so not allowed in when we first tried went back a few hours later got it but all pools were freezing and even the kids complained, next day were were told the pool was broken and wouldnt be fixed before our stayed ended 3 days later, we only booked this park for the use of the indoor pool that others dont have, with disapointed kids we promised to take the to the club house in time for family bingo, according to the time table we were given on arrival it said family bingo 6:45pm we arrive at 6:25 pm to find no seats in club house and the bingo had already started and it was too late to join in again disapointed kids, kids entertainment is all of 10 minutes and totally rubbish, day 3 call maintance again when all electric and lights go off at 10:30pm but fixed quickly, next night arrive super early at 6:10pm for family bingo listed at 6:45pm to be told no sorry we are not doing bingo tonight just a few party dances as we are short staffed on a Tuesday amd Thursday and I cant do it all Im new here this is my first season! I do wonder why bother giving us a time table if they never do any of the thimgs they list, so a few dances later back to the caravan as there was not much else to do! Wouldnt go again!

Just arrived back from a 2 night stay at coghurst hall park over the Easter weekend, had a gold plus caravan but no way matches a gold plus at park resorts,no central heating,no net curtains, very basic in comparison.caravan sited in between owned ones no parking. The clubhouse well what a joke it is so tiny for the size of site you have no chance getting a table unless you sit there all day.The entertainment starts at 6pm so we arrived at 5.30 to get our table we'll there was no chance of that the place was full as this is also the restaurant,we hung around for 45 mins hoping to get one and ended up leaving and having a night in.the 2nd night was exactly the same even after getting there for 5,so packed up and came home early, the whole point of the break was for the kids to have fun and us the parents to have a night out which didn't happen.gonna stick to park resorts better entertainment facilities and far better caravans
