This is a very good hotel for the money you pay, the view I had from the window was horrible as I had a room at the back and all I could see was a run down kitchen I think and lorries unloading in the loading bay so not the beautiful sea also the room was small but had everything you need and free tea and coffee the hotel was very clean and the rooms. employees were very polite and friendly. but I don't think id stay again because the mattress had piss stains all over them I only see it when I left, so I couldn't complain. also the bar is never open unless there is a privet party so that's never.

Room Tip: don't get room 110 as you have to keep the curtens closed coz the building opposite can look tho...

A friendly welcome, soon registered and off to my room(205) a twin room with a sea view, the beach is literally a stones throw away form the beach and the shopping centre.
Bedroom clean but so old fashioned as was the rest of the hotel, the furnishing had well had some use, and needed to be replaced.. The bathroom really needed an uplift, lots of mould around the taps, no holder for loo roll and the enamel was well worn off the bath, made it look unwholesome, the ceiling extracted fan was filthy. But all that said a comfortable sleep was had on both my nights.
Food - breakfasts very nice a traditional English freshly cooked, the evening meal, well all on offer was an Indian set menu, if your not into Indian food, you've a problem, also if you choose to eat there each night. But what I must say is the Indian meal was probably one of the best I have ever had! 3 courses for £15.50, plus we had a complimentary soup starter it was delicious.
Back to the hotel, if I'm honest, although staff were attentive and helpful the hotel itself really needs an upgrade, the price for a 3* was reasonable, especially for where its placed on the seafront, but I wouldn't out of choice have picked this hotel, nor would I stay here again. Parking was on the roadside, well wherever you could find a spot, free from 1800-0900, but a charge any other time. Such a shame as the hotel has such potential its a beautiful commanding building from the outside.

We booked this hotel because it was on the sea front. On line it looked ideal for what we wanted - basic - for one overnight stay; price very reasonable. The twin room was ok, but very tired. However, the bathroom was absolutely filthy. Bar closed, not good considering it was a bank holiday. Wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: Wouldn't stay here again, nor recommend it

If you're on a tight budget this hotel is ok ( although if the Travel Lodge was in the centre of Hastings you'd be better going there as you know what standard to expect)
The location is excellent on the front in the centre of Hastings - but don't expect to have any restful areas overlooking the sea - the only area to sit is in a long corridor (with a row of plastic seats)stuck on to the front of the hotel. The lounge window doesn't have a view of the sea.
The fabric of the interior was in a sad state of disrepair (plaster coming off walls, etc.)

The room (ours was at the back) was as other reviewers stated very dated (although it did have a huge flatscreen TV) Coffee/tea making facilities provided as were toiletries and towels.
Bed linen was clean, as was the room. The bathroom obviously had been cleaned but was in a dreadful state of repair - net curtain with holes in it hung on a wire above window - shower curtain rail and taps rusty. Plaster on ceiling coming off. However the shower was really good!!

Only staff we seen were on arrival - we had 'room only' basis and they did not offer us breakfast.. On leaving we put keys through a 'letterbox' so did not see any staff.

Overall a very basic hotel - more like 1 Star but bearing in mind's its location and price (£50 per room per night) it was quite good value for money

Hotel itself in need of overhaul -except for restaurant and amazing authentic 70's basement bar and dance area which is great for private parties. Staff were warm and welcoming and very accommodating.

It definitely needs a major repair / update. It has just been let go since the 80's.

You basically get what you pay for here.

Staff friendly.

Rooms brown /orange.

Bathrooms are not good.

Couldn't get a bottle of water anywhere outside of hours.
