bit dusty, but good at night , i grew to love it, took a day or two to adjust.Think I got what they meant. its all a bit rough around the sea area, saw a punch up or two in the day time. I think its worth a visit.

“Unexpected, interesting to visit but not always in a good way”

A major factor in deciding to share this apartment with friends was the description of '2 bathrooms of which 1 Family bathrooms and 1 Shower rooms', in fact there is just one bathroom containing both the bath and the shower. The price was also most attractive. It is difficult to see just what cleaning takes place for the £30 payment, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired, stripping the beds ready for departure revealed pillows and mattresses badly stained, the bed linens on one bed were spotted with stains and on the other were damp. There was a set of damp linen hanging to dry on an airer above the fridge. Tomatoes left in the fridge were weeks out of date and had turned to liquid compost. The quirkiness makes for a very interesting visit, and the owners are most generous in sharing their many possessions scattered throughout. We enjoyed listening to some vinyl and browsing books, admiring quirky ornaments and light fittings but as a place to sleep we were very relieved that we only had two nights here.

“Wonderful Appartement!”
Reviewed 18 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed at the appartement for one week in July. All four of us - including our teenage daughter and 12-year-old son - loved everything about the flat.
Perfect size, the designs, the equipment, the energy, the neighbourhood...
Getting the key was easy, contact with Andre aswell. Nice and safe area with easy walking to the beach and St. Leonards town. Ok, the way back takes a bit longer due to the hill, but for us it was absolutely ok.
There is a lot to see and do, even a walk to Hasting is not too far. Loved the Old Town in Hastings.
The only things we missed - but are not really important - are a sieve for noodles and a whisk. And maybe a more comfy mattress in the large bedroom. But this is a very personal thing, so I didn't worry too much.
Thank you for a great time!

“Gorgeous apartment - comfort & elegance”
Reviewed 16 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

It was a real pleasure, to spend a few days in this apartment, the sun even shined. It felt like a generous friend had loaned you their home. Such fun swanning around in such grandly proportioned rooms. Huge windows look out onto quiet gardens (close up of a Jay)
Proper attention to comfort- great beds, lovely big bath, huge sofa, loads if books, DVD's even a turntable.
It all worked very easily, the owner was very helpful & responsive to any questions.
Near enough to walk down to town, for lazy junk shop meandering etc. Maybe do the bikes next time

Liked best: space, privacy comfort
Liked least: only if being fussy? few big coffee mugs, some of 'decorative' chairs were slightly unnerving as had broken legs/ backs. shaving gear and soap maybe a bit too 'homely' for some guests?

“Lovely homely apartment, excellent value”

Lovely large apartment, full of charming art, furniture and in a nice location, easily large enough for 2 couples, although was reasonably priced enough for just the 2 of us to stay. As a parent of 3 (2 being toddlers) i would have felt a little less relaxed bringing my children as the apartment has lots of belongings, decorative artefacts and accessories to be admired! Had nice comfy bed, large tv, good heating (which we needed due to typical English weather) kitchen is not very large compared to the other rooms but ample for making some breakfast, as we decided to eat in town most of the time as there are some very lovely restaurants and cafes locally was not an issue. There were lots of lovely toiletries etc left , which the owner kindly invites you to borrow if need be, but personally I would have preferred the bathroom to be clearer and maybe these be in a cupboard as find other people's used toiletries, razors etc slightly to comfortable and like you are maybe intruding in someone else's space, it also meant the bathroom was not as clean as it could have been, But this was not a major issue, overall I loved the apartment and location and was good value and I would stay again. I would say if you are looking for 5 star spotless accommodation with no personality this may not be for you but if you like comfortable, interesting and relaxed accommodation with some lovely features and in a great location then I would recommend.

“Fantastic, quirky, comfy, spacious apartment with lots to do in surrounding area!”
Reviewed 22 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Perfect holiday apartment for a family half-term break near the seaside; very reasonably priced too. Immediately felt like home from home. Quiet, attractive residential area, with lots of parking on road outside. Indulgently huge rooms but cosy, warm and comfortable too. Very cosy by the fire in the living room. Furnished and decorated in quirky, shabby-chic style: lots of interesting artwork and objets d'art to look at wherever you turn. Lots of books and magazines to read, and loads of CDs and DVDs to choose from, especially if you like the alternative and arty. We loved playing vinyl records on the turntable. Kitchen a little limited for serious chefs, but not a problem to rustle up family meals. Shops and sea-front just 5-10 minutes' walk away. St Leonard's and Hastings both fantastic for antiques and junk shop browsing, as well as the usual seaside stuff. Our kids loved the apartment and didn't want to leave it to go sight-seeing as they were so comfy and relaxed! The panoramic view from Hastings castle is unmissable, especially as the sun is going down. We really enjoyed the Smugglers' Adventure caves tour. Via email the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We were lucky that we had two days of warm sun in February, but would recommend the apartment and the town to anyone who loves the great British seaside for what it is, warts'n'all!

“wonderful flat”
Reviewed 19 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

As other reviews have said, this is a lived-in home, not just a holiday let. At first this made me nervous in case I broke something precious! But within 24 hours I felt completely at home. I'll admit there are quirks but they don't detract from the warm, welcoming feel and the terrific style of the place. The kitchen, though small, is equipped with excellent quality cookware and had everything I needed, the bed was very comfortable and the bath is a dream. The booking arrangements were very efficient, it has good wifi and a small but decent co-op nearby for food essentials. The house is near the top of a very steep hill but it's a hilly area so you're only going to avoid that on the seafront. It's very convenient for St Leonard's station.
