I stayed here in the winter months. The cottage has a really lovely feel with old beams. It was cosy, comfortable and beautifully furnished.
The cottage is perfectly placed to explore the area. It's only a short walk to the fishing huts, which were fascinating and the local seafood stalls.
Had a fantastic meal at The Two Bulls - WOW, the pudding was THE BEST!!!
Can't wait to come again.

“Old town, seaside, cosy, perfection.”

We stayed at Seagate in freezing March 2013. The cottage is so warm and welcoming sometimes it was tempting to stay in all day. Venturing out was a pleasure as well though with numerous friendly pubs, restaurants and shops all within a short walking distance. Turn right out of the front door and before you know it you are amongst the beach based fishing fleet of Hastings and you immediately feel part of the rich history of the old town. Buy fresh fish from the little huts on the beach, take it home and cook in Seagate's lovely kitchen or go to one of those friendly pubs or restaurants, they always have fresh fish on the menu. I plan to spend more time in Hastings, we now have a gorgeous place to stay where the locals are really friendly, the air is clean and the food is delicious. Top notch.

“Cosy Tudor cottage a stone's throw from the Stade and beach”
Reviewed 25 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Great location for the old town of Hastings - bistros, galleries,'nic-nac' shops and real pubs, this is a period house but with modern fittings and style. The rooms are of good size - lounge has log burning fire and comfy large sofa, kitchen has dining table, and the main bedroom feels quite grand.
Locals are friendly - all the old town pubs welcoming to all, including dogs, the cottage is ideal for popping in and out - short trips to the fish stalls or a climb up to the Country Park.
Definitely recommending for a seaside break to somewhere with character.
