We have been booking self-catering cottages for nearly forty years now and Swallows Nest is probably one of the best establishments we have stayed in. Chris and Erick have thought of everything. The enormous bed is so comfortable and it's only the delightfully bathroom with it's jacuzzi bath and underfloor heating that will persuade you to get up in the morning. The kitchen is very well equipped and the welcome pack was extremely generous. The gardens are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and you really are made to feel very welcome. This is not just a business for Chris and Erick it's an obvious passion. Well done guys. Be sure to visit Rye and Winchelsea and the nearby National Trust properties. Batemans, home of Rudyard Kipling is particularly interesting. There are many walks from the cottage and the views are amazing. The Two Sawyers pub and The Sussex Exchange are highly recommended. You won't regret booking either Swallows Nest or Badgers Ben, we certainly didn't.
Swallows Nest is a lovely cottage for a break. Immaculately clean, fantastically comfortable bed! The hosts are very friendly and gave us a tour of the pool and hot tub area very soon after arrival.
The welcome pack and flowers are a lovely touch and very much appreciated.
Loved having the pool to use and there are some lovely walks right on the doorstep. Couldn't fault a thing, fabulous.,
Swallows Nest was a comfortable, well-equipped cottage with all we needed. The pool and jacuzzi were an added bonus. The cottage is set in some wonderful countryside with plenty of interesting places to visit e.g. Battle, Hastings, beaches, railways... It was our second visit. We couldn't wait to go again.
This is our second stay at Swallows Nest (we were here in 2014). The cottage was immaculate as we remembered it. The bed and bedding incredibly comfortable (again as we remembered it), the swimming pool still a great indoor feature that's incredibly hard to find elsewhere in Sussex. The real bonus extras this time was being able to sit in a fabulous outdoor hot tub at night, looking up at the sky and looking around at the beautifully lit garden. The garden and grounds are incredible - they give you a wonderful sense of peace and being transported to a little haven away from it all.
The location is perfect - central to Hastings, Rye, Battle and Camber Sands. Have already recommended to at least four friends who all want to book!
We really loved this cottage and plan to come back in the future. It's a little way out of Hastings which suited us well. The kitchen was really well-equipped and there was a BBQ and dog-safe seating area. The indoor pool and the hot tub were an added luxury and we made a lot of use of the jacuzzi bath as well. Our daughter loved the inflatables for the pool. The shower gel provided was gorgeous and the bathrobes and slippers a lovely touch.
Had an amazing time here so near everything but far away enough to enjoy the peace and quite Fab accommodation amazing and handsome hosts
Well this place is a breath of fresh air ! Was welcomed by the friendly owners who were warm and generous with their property. Everything was set out tastefully without skimping on quality. For example all our bedding was super soft high count cotton as you would expect in a good hotel. Kitchen was well stocked with everything. Property was immaculate and the owners were only to happy to oblige with any requests. Really was impressed.
Location is fabulous as it far enough out of hastings but ideal for going anywhere such as Rye or Eastbourne.
Will be back !
