Place looked tacky inside and out. The lentil soup was nice but the other dishes were lacking in flavour. Will not be going back!

We have used this curry house a few times with friends when we have ventured to the old town. The food is cheap, tasty and the owners are very polite and nothing too much trouble. We had 6 meals, 2 bottles of wine, poppadoms, pickles and naan bread all for under £100

Okay, the restaurant itself is hardly likely to wake Gordon Ramsay from his sleep. It's got little in the way of traditional tandoori decor (furry wallpaper, alcoves, and illuminated paintings). And, the staff look just as expected in a seaside resort that only sees customers half the year.

But the food? The food is alright. I bought a vegetable Madras curry, some plain naans, and rice. All were excellent. The naans were fluffy, heavy (yes, heavy), and hot. The rice was cooked fresh, and the vegetable Madras was full of quality vegetables and spice. This is a dish that's particularly easy to mess up. Many restaurants doll out a container full of grease, so the offering I got from this little back street takeaway was especially surprising.

In summary, this is an honest business that's stuck in a time warp from probably when Indian restaurants landed in the UK. As such, the restaurant is a little lacking, but the food is as good as back when spice flew into old Blighty some 50 years ago.

We arrived at 10pm and the place was empty. Apparently it had been very busy earlier.

Waiter very attentive and polite. Food was served promptly and was tasty.

My partner had prawn madras and said the prawns were very small but there were lots of them.

I had a lamb bhuna which was spot on.

All round good service. Only thing we could fault it for was the restaurant was cold but they did put the heater on when we asked.
