“Overnight stay”
Reviewed 24 February 2012

This hotel has very polite and friendly staff. The rooms were spotless as usual, never had a bad one yet at premier inns. Could do with being a bit warmer in the room a bit draughty. Despite building work was going on somewhere this did not interfer with our stay in any way. Plastic had been laid over the hall carpets to trap any mud from the builders I suppose, but all was very clean. Had a good laugh at the contractors leaving there boots outside the room doors. Very thoughtful and considerate. T V a bit outdated not a modern one. My only complaint would be there was no phone in the room.
Friendly staff and food ok in the restaurant.

Room Tip: we were facing side front to reception, not noisy

Third stay at this hotel and it hasn't got any better. Comfy bed, scruffy bathroom needs 5 minutes with a mould remover and the sink plug needs to be attached. The 15 year old TV had a "fuzzy" picture. I may be a little picky here but, added to the fire alarm going off 3 times, no space in the car park owing to building work and the woeful standards in the attached Brewers Fayre I thought it worth a mention.
My top tip is to go to McDonalds over the road! We waited 15 minutes for a barrel change (Fosters) 45 minutes for a standard meal and on the third enquiry about the food, a senior member of staff gave me an apology and a free beer; good customer relations but I would rather have had my food on time and it wasn't even particularly busy when we arrived although it was pretty full by the time the food came. Breakfast was as bad; the restaurant was so cold I had to go back for a jacket to wear over my sweater, the plate warmer wasn't on so the plates were as cold as I was resulting in a very disappointing meal. The eggs were barely warm, the mushrooms and bacon were stone cold (inedible) but to be fair, the sausages were hot. I complained discretely and was told it was to be expected as they had recently changed to a buffet service but all it needed was hot plates and lids on the chafing dishes.

The hotel is situated alongside the A21 on the edge of a small retail park, mainly car showrooms and a supermarket. The location was good as at was around a 5-10 minute drive to the seafront and town centre . The room was very clean and to a good standard, it was located at the back of the hotel where they seemed to be bigger than the ones at the front of the building . The car parking was o/k to start with but the hotel is just starting a refurbishment which may take around 4 weeks to complete and the builders have taken over two sections of the car park. There is an overfow area but this was full most of the time. With a Brewers Fair on site offering very good deals on meals during half term week it became very difficult to get a parking space, perhaps they should have started the refurbishment after half term.
The standard of the hotel was good and I am surprised that they are refurbishing it so you can look forward to a very pleasent stay in the future.

Room Tip: 2nd floor rooms at the back

when we stayed at premier inn at hastings on 30/12/2011- 02/01/2012 it was beautiful. When we arrived we entered our room to find a freshning, clean room that was ever so neat. There were enough room for our luggage and the beds for relaxing and comfy. Then we went down to explore the hotel. We went down the lift and into the pub next door which was fixed onto the hotel which was very handy. When we went into the pub it was a warm and cosy atmosphere and was nice and quiet. After that we went up to our room and went to bed as we had been travelling 5 hours in the car, and found it easy to fall to sleep as we didn't hear a pin drop next door. The next day we got up for our breakfast which was only 7.00am - 10.30am and had an enjoyable breakfast. As you can tell from the dates we spent new years eve there and it was fantastic. We first went down and there was really nobody there which was the unexpected as there was a comedian coming and so we sat down and ordered our starters after a while only a couple turned up in the same area as us and nobody was turning up and we got a bit dissapointed. Then the comedian turned up and set up his things then started playing music.then a big family turned up across from us.About an hour went by and the atmosphere got a bit akward because he came out with little jokes and because there was ardly anybody there so when he said a joke and somebody didn't hear him it sounded like nobody found it funny. Then another hour later the other table started talking to us across the tables and they asked us to join there table. Then it started getting good as we introfuced our selfves and started talking then we pulled some crackers and party poppers and it got better and better as the night went on.And we spent our new years eve with a lovely family who became very good friends. Then when our break ended we were very dissapointed to go as we had a fantastic time and we didn't want to leave. thanks for reading and i would definatley go again and recommend this to someone else.

Room Tip: well we slept in room 115 on floor 1 and it was very peacful and clean.

We stayed at the Premier Inn at Hastings as we were visiting my Parents. We managed somehow to get one of their £29 a night deals.
The room was good, clean, airy and comfortable. A standard Premier Inn room. I had seen from other reviews that traffic noise from the nearby A21 main road was a problem. We hardly noticed any so the sound-proofing was fine. We did hear a couple of groups of excited children above us stomping around like a heard of Elephants. But they were short-lived.

The problems came when we dined in the Brewers Fayre next door. We had booked for a full breakfast both nights, and evening meal for one night. It was a real live Fawlty Towers experience. The service was slow and inefficient. We waited the best part of an hour for our order. Then they managed to cock it up for the first of four occaisions, giving us something that not merely was not our order, but I couldn't eat as I have a food allergy. We had a devil of a job persuading the server it was not our order (but the ticket says so). This happened four times during the evening. The crowning glory was we were delivered 6 desserts. There was only two of us eating! Should have been a bit of a clue. And we had ordered none of it. We heard people on tables behind us complaining their orders had vanished into thin air. We subsequently heard the server state the tickets had been lost.
The quality of the food was not worth the wait. It was OK but nothing special. We have been used to a far better standard of catering at a Premier Inn.
When we asked for a decaffinated coffee, the first had to go back as they had given me the wrong coffee. I would have been climbing up the wall. Not good.
Breakfast wasn't much better. The quality of the food was about the level of school or University hall of residence dinners. But we had paid far more for it. Not good value for money. The second day we heard that people who had ordered Continental Breakfast, found out they had run out of Croissants, Rolls and Muffins and couldn't get hold of any more that day. There was a supermarket next door. How hard could it be.
To be fair when the staff did get something out, they did the best they could with what they had available.
But next time we are definitely going elsewhere, certainly for our food. Shame.

Room Tip: Nothing particular comes to mind.

Everything was just as you'd expect for a Premier Inn. On arrival, receptionist was friendly and polite. Family room was clean and made up for us and our 2 children. It was a room at the back, away from the A21, but bit disappointed that we were given a room next to the lift, so I expected a lot of noise. However, there was only a tiny bit from parents who couldn't control their noisy kids and the squaeky floorboards from the room above.

Breakfast was a typical Premier Inn breakfast buffet. All hot. All fresh. Tasty too. Selection as per every other Premier Inn. When staff were asked to warm croissants, they did it immediately and brought them to our table. Had immedate service when it came to till payment for the breakfast.

All as it should be - and a lot of staff present for Christmas Eve, Well done.

Room Tip: Go for the back rooms, overlooking the car park.

Our family has used this establishment numerous times whilst visiting elderly relatives and have had mixed experiences, your stay will be dependant on the time of year and outside temperatures. The rooms that back onto the A21 have no air conditioning and the atmosphire in the room has been oppresive. If you open the window the traffic noise is rather loud. The newer rooms at the back are good. Several times the lift has not been working. The breakfast service is poor and you are better going to Mac Donalds or the near by Sainsburys (far better value). The restaurant food is a bit "plastic". The bar staff seem to be inexperienced and lack customer service. Parking a bit tight at times.
Having said the above the reception staff have been very helpful, and it is a better establishment than the local Travel Lodge in the town.
If you are only staying for one or two nights then it is fine. Hey you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Go for the newer rooms over looking the car park
