“Poor restaurant”

Hotel itself is standard premier Inn, you get what you pay for (not a lot), the restaurant though is like something from the dark ages. There is a a McDonald's opposite which runs rings round it. Brewers fayre you really need to sort your act out. Hotel 5/10 restaurant 1/10

This was our second stay and the rooms are a good size, comfortable and clean (if you ignore the stain on the carpet!). The corridors are long and the lift is very disconcerting in the way it starts and stops with a violent jolt.

The restaurant was a disappointment this time. Seriously understaffed and you have to queue to order. Breakfast was a bun fight with food continuously running out.

I would stay in the hotel again, but I would not eat in the restaurant.

We stayed here Valentines night for the first time. We were greeted on reception by Ella who was very professional, happy and made us feel like the only guests there - nothing was too much trouble for her. We ate in the Brewers Fayre next door and although it was busy and had kids running around that is what you should expect from a family restaurant. Our meals were lovely and service and staff brilliant.

Our room was spotlessly clean and of a very good standard, shower was very powerful, loved it. Would definitely stay here again. Although next to the main road you could not hear anything, parking was plentiful too.

Room Tip: Room 111 was very good

As seasoned Premier Inn users we are very rarely disappointed with the quality of the hotel and the service of the staff. Hastings was no exception. The girl on reception was excellent, managing to change our room to a ground floor one without any fuss or bother. However i must agree with previous reviewers that Premier should definitely reconsider their relationship with Brewers Fayre as they are being seriously let down. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, resulting in guests having to form a conga line at the bar just to get served. Because of the obvious tailbacks we opted for the chicken buffet. Bad mistake. Dry, bland, and barely warm. The vegetable options consisted of chips, chips or chips. Not a sign of any relish or dips, let alone salad. Needless to say Brewers Fayre will not be getting any more visits from us. Wake up Premier! Your excellent reputation is in danger of being tarnished by your association with these people.

As always premier inn Superb. Staff that are lovely and you can understand. Very clean. A fraction more expensive at busy locations but way ahead of the competition. I normally hate big chains but they have got something right here. Really feels like it puts its guests before profit.

I have stayed in a few Premier Inns, and to date this is my least favourable experience.

We were visiting Hastings for a family funeral. After a very long journey through horrendous weather and unfamiliar roads, taking us about 5 hours instead of 3, we arrived at 22.02, to find that the restaurant would not serve us after 22.00. As we did not wish to eat at the suggested 'Macdonalds' we ended up eating a sandwich that we had taken on our journey. We decided that we wanted a drink at the bar, however despite 3 members of staff seeing us standing at the bar waiting, none of them asked us if they could help. Finally one of them came over and served us whilst muttering to 'herself' that she was not signed in to do so.

I would suggest that there are more than 2 tea bags put in the rooms as standard, as for a couple, one cup of tea each without having to go to reception to request more is a little 'stingy'.

Breakfast was ok, however I felt the staff were not professional and their communications between each other were not discrete, quiet or appropriate for a dining room.

The redeeming features of this stay were that the member of Premier Inn staff who was there for our 'check-in' was very polite, and the room was clean.

I suggest that Premier Inn should seriously consider if the Brewers Fayre is good for their business. If I had any power within Premier Inn, I would have managers evaluate the benefits of being associated with this particular Brewers Fayre or have Brewers Fayre staff being trained by staff from Richmond Premier Inn, who were faultless.

I would certainly not visit this Premier Inn again.
