“A relaxed hotel in the heart of Hastings”
Reviewed 6 May 2013

Stayed here for a long weekend in May. Very friendly staff greeted us. We had a sea view room which was decorated nicely and a good size. The view over the beach was nice, but such a sad looking pier! The room was very hot, with all radiators on when it was not needed. Had to sleep with windows open and that meant lots of noise from the busy road out the front. The hotel is well located to explore Hastings and the sea front. The staff were all extremely friendly, they really made the place very welcoming. Overall a lovely hotel for a relaxed weekend.

Have Just spent another Lovely weekend at the White Rock with our Dogs. They were more than welcomed. Had a comfortable room with plenty of space for our dog crates. It was so good being able to go to the cafe bar with our dogs and not have to leave them locked in a room on their own . The food was good as always and does not break the bank either. We have been back quite a few times now because we love the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly staff and the great sea views. Will certainly be going back in the near future.

Room Tip: Room 208 and 210 best rooms for quick access to the car park for comfort breaks for the dogs

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's a pleasant walk to Hastings Old Town and there are plenty of eateries nearby though we preferred to eat in.

The food is quite good and reasonably priced. Even better - they don't charge you any extra if you want it brought up to your room. Wifi is free and serviceable and there's a very friendly cat who roams up onto the first floor. Laundry services are quick and not too expensive (10 pounds per bag).

The room we had was lovely and had a sea view - luckily the weather behaved! We also had no trouble finding a space in their parking area out the back.

The only drawback is the sometimes confusing setup of stairs and corridors.

We keep coming back because we love it ! A great Family run establishment. Fabulous welome; staff; food; bar; ambiance; power-shower. It's all 200% great as far as we are concerned. We always do a walk on the South Downs/Severn Sisters starting at Eastbourne, but we always stay here in Hastings. We wouldn't stay anywhere else when we are in the area.

I don't usually like hotels but this one has three major plus points for me - the location is great by the sea and near enough to the attractions, a relaxed atmosphere with its homely lounge bar to while away a few hours and thirdly it allows dogs. We all loved it and will return.

We felt the hotel was so far along the coast road, it was more towards Bexhill-On-Sea, nevertheless, it isn't a trek form the station, once you navigate to the coastal
Rooms were fine, modern touches but compact & narrow corridors with free wifi. Rooms with sea view wasn't extortionate, & was quiet enough to hear the sea, without traffic-disturbing levels. Balancing minimal with modern in a nice way, but we wouldn't want to traverse the corridors for more than a weekend

Overlooking the pier (sadly now ruined by fire), this is a welcoming and well appointed hotel, with an attractive bar/restaurant (with a good selection of wines) and an outdoor terrace for when the weather is more seasonable than in March when we stayed. Our double room overlooking the front was freshly decorated and a reasonable size, well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge, desk, small table and armchairs. Wardrobe and shelf space might be a little tight if you had a lot of clothes. The bathroom was scrupulously clean, with a bath and an overhead shower and a useful shelf unit. The only minor quibble is that the lift is tiny (a real squeeze for two people with no more than hand luggage), and using the stairs to and from the third floor requires a bit of navigation.
