“i have stayed at this Travelodge four times & have enjoyed each stay”
Reviewed 14 February 2014 via mobile

the staff has always been friendly & only too happy to help, asking if we're enjoying our stay & if we need anything.

the rooms have always been clean & warm in the winter. the food is nice, i recommend the pizza & chips which are both cooked perfectly & the beers are always ice cold.

just a tip theres free parking on the main road which is quiet at night & much more well lit then the hotels own £3 a day carpark.

My first stay in a Travelodge, I was very impressed. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, with no problems at all. We could even buy a bowl of cereal in the morning, without the cooked breakfast. The staff were welcoming and friendly.
You do need to pay £3 a day to park, but you could leave your car there for 24 hours for that price.

If like me you are a woman who doesn't look exactly as you did when you were 21 and would like to be that slim again, this is the hotel for you! I stayed in room 220 and after arriving in my room I looked in the full length mirror (as you do) and thought 'hmmmm, something not quite right with this' but couldn't put my finger on it. After getting ready to go out with colleagues, I looked in the mirror again and wow! I figured it out! This mirror makes you look 2 dress sizes smaller!! I went out for my dinner feeling on top of the world and next morning, looked in the mirror and went to work feeling on top of the world too! Thank you Travelodge for providing this excellent service! (Oh, the hotel was one of the nicer Travelodges I have stayed in but beware of the £3 cash only parking charge which they don't tell you about when you book)

The hotel itself is OK- you get what you pay for - but what made our stay great was the excellent customer service from every member of the staff that we spoke to. All were very helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a good one. I would particularly like to single out Jake - one of the most helpful people I've met - and Jade. Really great people.

My parents stayed here at the weekend with my ill aunt and uncle and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff as they could not have done any more to help during such a difficult time - they are stars. Special thanks to Roman and his wife, I know my parents appreciated everything they did.

2 nights for approx £50.00
The room we were given was a family room, down in the bowels of the hotel. It was big enough for our needs. We dumped our things and headed to the bar where we were promised really nice & reasonably priced food. Fish fingers chips & beans for our son & a plate of nachos for us to share. He ate his chips & beans no problems (as you'd expect with a 2yo) refused to eat fish fingers?! No wonder, chewy & cheap. Our Nachos were essentially glued together by cheese with 5 jalapenos and measly amounts of guac,s.cream & salsa. Whatever, we weren't there to dine we were there to sleep....and sleep we did not. We put our son to bed and went to hide in the bathroom for a bit (any parent can sort of understand this) it was then that we discovered the stray hairs & the bathmat had come loose from the bath. It also transpired that whatever was above us appears to be a small heard of elephants. Thankfully this didn't disturb our son too much but we didn't particularly find it easy to go to sleep with. Also, when we had initially got into the room the heating was on full whack (probably not a bad idea with the weather of late) but it took until roughly 4am to cool down (the elephants were still on the move). We had booked for 2 nights but we decided that we would arrange to stay with friends the following evening instead, maybe get some sleep even if it was on a floor. We saw Jason when we checked out who was provided with the above account and we explained that we felt unable to leave the room for fear of disturbing our boy (not the best of sleepers) and he advised he would arrange for us to have a credit for the nights stay to use with Travelodge, we are still waiting for this however it was only 2days ago. He even called after we'd left to make sure we were checking out as he didn't know we were meant to be there for 2 nights.

All in all, don't go if family. Maybe for a night out place to crash.

We are very sorry to learn of your disappointing stay Mrs_K_L_W. Our bar café staff are trained to prepare food to a great standard so it is regrettable that this fell below the standards we would expect on this occasion. We would also like to apologise that you were not happy with the level of cleanliness in the bathroom and that you were disturbed by customers in the room above yours, please be assured that our Hotel Manager will be made aware of your concerns so these issues can be addressed and feedback provided to the staff at the hotel. We would like to further understand the issues you have highlighted to find a resolution.
