Travelodge was clean and well maintained. Rooms need more storage space (no drawer space at all, only "wardrobe" was an exposed rail). The staff were superb. Friendly and helpful is the understatement.

On arrival was disappointed that the car park was Pay&Display, but was given a free pass by the reception, great work. You shouldn't have to pay to park where you're staying.
Rooms are a bit spartan, could do with some storage for clothes etc, but you get what you pay for. Everything was clean and tidy.
The best part of the stay was the staff who were friendly and very helpful, a credit to Travelodge!!

A short taxi ride to the beach, friendly staff, clean rooms, the only drawback is the charging for the car park which should be free if you're staying at the hotel and a wider choice of cooked items for breakfast

I have stayed in many Travelodges and got used to the cheap & cheerful expectations which comes from this budget chain , with poor staff being the norm. This one is different! Stayed 3 nights (for a soul weekend event) and although the room is still quite basic the new beds are very comfortable. However, what really makes the difference is the friendly staff. At check in Barbara was really friendly & got us sorted quickly after arriving stressed following a bad journey, she also offered to book a taxi and arranged an entry key as we would be back late. There is a good bar and cafe which is reasonably priced and convenient as you are about 20min walk into town (I would suggest get a taxi which are quite cheap at £3.50 early evening). The night manager called Scoot is also really friendly and will order a decent pizza from the menu and serve a nightcap as well as have a chat (if you want) at 3am! I would have no hesitation in staying here again and congratulate Hastings Travelodge for being part of our great bank holiday weekend.

Room Tip: The second floor is likely to be quieter.

My wife and I have just returned from visiting family in beautiful Hastings, our over night stay was
at The Travelodge in Hastings. We had a challenging journey down to Hastings from Waltham Lincs. where we live experience long delays on the M25 and Dartford crossing and diversion on A21, leaving home at noon and arriving 7 45pm. As we checked in with Steph it was such a pleasure to see a smiling face and a lovely personality after that "journey" she quite willingly changed our room for us as we didn't want to be in the basement rooms, she also gave us our car park for one night too . Steph has wonderful people skills which I am sure will help to move on with the company, after one of the best sleeps we have had in a long time we enquired about breakfast and Jason was on hand to help, he made us so welcome and was so helpful, also he I am sure will do very well with company, it topped our visit to Travelodge as outstanding. We unfortunately didn't get the opportunity to compliment the Manager, but of course he runs a fantastic establishment and well done to him.
Will we visit Hastings Travelodge again? of course and at £50 per couple per night that is great value!, we can't wait. Best wishes to you all & Thank you again. Mervin & Kathleen Dove

Room Tip: If you don't like steps don't book basement, otherwise all rooms are excellent

Travelodge gets more and more like the Ryanair of hotels every week.

Check in early £10, check out late £10, credit card fees and here £3 to park, when there was plenty of free parking on the street! It's not the cost, its just the fact that it doesn't cost them anything to allow you to check into a room that's empty, or delay your departure when the cleaner is cleaning another room anyway. Things that used to be complimentary to you for being a guest.

Room was spacious and clean, but both my wife and I had trouble turning the shower off, as it appeared to turn and slip without actually doing anything.

Very quiet area at the back and a real bonus to be able to sleep with the bedroom window open, until woken by the pigeons in the morning. I suspect at busier times the slamming of closing car doors may have disturbed us, so we were probably lucky.

There is an Asda not far away that serves a decent breakfast, if you don't want the all you can eat fare.

Room Tip: Park in the road for free or make sure you purchase your parking ticket.

First time staying at a Travelodge, wanted a room for one night which was good value, so I could meet up with friends in the area. Lovely room, really superb bed, so comfortable. Staff were so welcoming and friendly throughout stay. Had buffet style breakfast which was "as much as you can eat" and was lovely.
Plan to stay here again when next in the area.
