From the moment Alfredo welcomed us as we drove down their drive-way, we knew we had found a gem.
Alfredo and Liz could not have been more welcoming, and their hospitality and kindness throughout our stay was beyond words.
We needed special accommodation for our friends who were with us in that he has Ms and his wife a spinal problem. The room they had was superbly fitted out for disabled people, from bed to bathroom-en-suite, to a doorway leading directly into the dining area. They were totally delighted. As for our room on the first floor, again beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. During our three night stay, we commented on the fact that the kettle in our room was refilled every day. A little touch that we had never experienced before, even in some of the most expensive and luxurious hotels we had stayed in around the world. Just one example of the care and attention that Liz and Alfredo lavished on their guests. It had been like staying with friends.
We look forward to staying again in the future.

Room Tip: Every room is execellent

We stayed in the Roses room which overlooked the garden. Lovely room with an en suite and everything you needed was there. A lovely couple, Ross and his wife who are running the hotel at the moment were very friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was great. A good choice of menu, We walked into Hastings old town for dinner in the evenings which was a nice walk so did not need the car for our 2 day stay. We definitely recommend this and will re-visit and wish Ross and his family every good wish for their future.

We stayed in Roses, which was a lovely room. Not the biggest, but had a wonderfully comfortable bed and an en suite - what more could we need? The couple managing the property at the moment were lovely. The didn't flinch when my partner arrived covered in mud after a long day working. They even offered to put on a wash for us and couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast the next morning was lovely.

It didn't make a difference to us as we love animals, but there's a cat who lives in the guesthouse too - he was lovely and friendly but I didn't notice that mentioned anywhere so maybe double check if he's always around if you've got any allergies!

The only problem we had was finding the place - unfortunately it's a little bit in off the road, but we'd been travelling for hours and working all day so maybe we were just too tired to notice the sign outside.

Although it IS a bit hard to find the first time, that equates to a very quiet and relaxing location off the main streets and the traffic. The proprietors are very nice and accomodating, The lovely full English breakfast was more than plentiful and delicious. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the new center of Hastings and only another 10 to the old town area (and I am NOT a fan of walking a long way to get to attractions and restaurants -so it really IS an easy walk).

Room Tip: The Peony Room is lovely and very spacious.

We stayed at Summerfields House while a young couple were managing the property on behalf of the owners. The B&B was good and we really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and good food created by the hosts.

Room Tip: Private bathroom is good but not en-suite

On a cold dark wintery evening in a town you don't know in busy traffic, the B&B was hard to find.
There needs to be a street number or GPS co-ordinates on the internet.
We were in the Hedgerow room. Old fashioned décor but everything there that we needed. Didn't realise at booking that this room is not en suite but the bathroom is across the hall.
Too hot in the night, apparently due to the boiler being in a cupboard, bed too hard for our taste.
Situation lovely and quiet, good internet, beautifully cooked breakfast.
Best was the lovely and helpful temporary hosts, Ross and Charlotte. We very much enjoyed chatting with them. Thanks for the recommendation to The Hastings Arms in the old town, and their fish and chips! Liz has left the place in extremely competent hands.
