“Top Class B&B”
Reviewed 16 August 2012

The Hastings is a claasical white painted Victorian sea front terraced house - narrow but tall extending over several floors. Has light attractive breakfast room reception area but no other facilities.
Hastings interioor has been renovated recently with an attractive modernish design with bold colours.
Our room was the best in the house on the top floor.. not huge but bright, light and airy with 3 bay window and good (angled) seafront view. But the long & steep stairs were a challenge with a 2 week holiday suitcase (use an overnight bag !). Seng was a very professional host belied his long 5* expernience in the industry. Starting with a welcome drink , an attention to detail on breakfast food allergies, a spot-on restaurant tip he cant be faulted. Breakfast was also great . We enjoyed our stay and can recommend - dont expect a luxury hotel experience but its a top class B&B.

Room Tip: Top floor seafront room in purple

What a lovely place to stay. The room was delightful and Seng was a most genial host, who has put a lot of effort and time in to making our stay special. The food was superb, in all a truly lovely visit. We will certainly be coming again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the park, look out to sea and are tranquill

This B & B is excellent. Spotlessly clean, super rooms, excellent breakfast and great hospitality. Our room was very tastefully decorated, as was the dining/lounge area. There is great attention to detail, with very good toiletries, soft towels, bathrobes and lovely bed linen. The tea tray offered a variety of refreshments, including bottled water every day. Seng was a great host and made us feel most welcome and comfortable. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We also found the location of Hastings house very convenient. It was near to the sea for an evening stroll along the promenade, but only 3 or 4 minutes away was the main railway line which was very handy. There are plenty of places to eat round and about if needed. In all a very enjoyable stay. We could not have asked for more.

Room Tip: Room number 1 was big enough for 2 people. It was situated to the back which meant it was lovely and...

My sister and I booked Hastings House for a small lunchtime gathering following our mother's funeral... Seng and his wife could not have been more helpful and accommodating
A lovely bright atmosphere - would heartily recommend it for similar functions...

Stayed at Hastings House last weekend and booked a 'Superior Room with sea view'. This was a fabulour room and quite spacious. Could sit up in bed and see the sea rolling in - bliss. Everything about this small hotel is QUALITY, fixtures and fittings totally immaculate and spotlessly clean everywhere. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we were offered a complimentary drink upon arrival. Breakfast served to you personally (no help yourself buffet) and never disappointed in quality. If I wanted to be really picky I felt our room would have benefitted from having a dressing table rather than a large bed settee - which we didn't need as there was a small circular table with two easy chairs in front of the window. Felt there was nowhere to sit and dry off hair or do make up. Just a trivial really but us ladies do seem to like a dressing table and stool. Having said that would certainly stay there again. Price isn't particularly cheap - but you get what you pay for!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have sea views (although these are more expensive) and have a small balcony. Has...
