Highly recommend this place - service was amazing from the moment we arrived. Room lovely views with champagne chilling on arrival. Perfect relaxed weekend getaway with Seng provided many recommendations on where to eat. Breakfast was also top notch.

We stayed at the Hastings House for 2 nights and it was one of the best weekends away we've ever had. When we arrived Seng welcomed us with a lovely coffee and told us a lot about the area. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious with a huge bath. There were nice fluffy bathrobes and lovely toiletries. Our breakfast was delicious. We would love to come back!

I can only agree with all the positive comments posted so far. My boyfriend & I stayed at Hastings House for a couple of nights in early November. The welcome was warm - Seng sat us down with a glass of wine and told us about the area - and the room was gorgeous with plenty of room to spread out. We stayed in one of the more expensive, larger rooms with a sea view and it was well worth the price. Aswell as the large, comfortable bed, the bathroom was beautiful - clean, sleek, and with lots of lovely touches like plently of cotton wool balls (one of those things I always manage to forget to pack).

We ate at St Clements on the first night (kindly booked by Seng) and had a lovely meal (even my fussy vegetarian companion was pleased). If you're looking for something less expensive but still good quality I would also recommend Forte's, an Italian restaurant on the seafront at the other side of the square from the hotel. Good pizza, pasta, etc and very friendly.

Other little things we liked: the fact that the honesty mini bar wasn't over-priced (free bottled water, £1.50 for a bottle of beer etc); good soundproofing so very little noise from other rooms or the corridor; just the right level of help from Seng - he was always there when we needed him but wasn't at all intrusive.

All in all, highly recommended.

We booked 3 rooms and spent 2 nights in the hotel on business and this hotel is without doubt one of the best we´ve come across. Seng and Elizabeth are fantastic hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We were given fantastic home-cooked breakfasts and Seng also made reservations for us in two local restaurants (Pomegranate and St. Clements) whose food can compete with the best anywhere in Britain. You get what you pay for as far as hotels go, and by paying that little bit more we were able to enjoy our time in Hastings and leave with a positive impression, whereas we also passed some of the other local hotels and they were shabby looking and we´re glad we took the advice of other trip advisor travellers.

Very friendly management. Beatifully clean. Excellent breakfast. Modern boutique style, refurbished with quality items. However too many compromises - small double bed, open plan toilet in room, basin in room rather than bathroom area, no towel rail anywhere near the basin, main light switches located away from the bed.
Despite its many excellent qualities I consider it seriously over-priced

The owner of this hotel went out of his way to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. The hotel itself is a hidden gem. You can see the attention to detail in every aspect of it from the cleanliness and clean lines of the decor to the delicious breakfast. And very good value. A must if you are in this part of town...
