Description: Small but perfectly formed Jali is a refined Indian restaurant set within the landmark Chatsworth Hotel on the seafront at Hastings. The smart menu, which has won an AA Rosette, fuses traditional dishes with modern techniques to produce elegant dishes such as marinated prawns in tomato gravy and a rich, spicy dum biryani.

Even tho we booked a table a few weeks prior to going we where kept waiting in the take away area. When we eventually got shown to our table we had to ask for our coats to be taken. We ordered poppadoms and the sauces we received wasn't the traditional Indian ones. We got sweet chilli sauce out of the bottle, the mint sauce was the you put over your roast dinner awful, we receive no onion salad, thick clumpy mango chutney. No of these weren't particularly appetising. There wasn't any ambience created with Indian music. The menu was limited compared to previously. It's a shame as we won't be returning & it used to be our favourite places to eat.

We have dined in the Jali Restaurant in Hastings at a saturday. Im not used to eat indian food and was very excited to try it. It was a amazing delicious dinner. Never tastet so much different fresh tastes in one spoon :) I can really recommend the indian food there, especially the sauces were great, never had so nice sauces. The food was presented in a loveley way and the staff was excellent. They explain you everything of the unique indian cuisine to be sure you will order the right meal. You can also feel the indian atmossphere with the beautiful indian decoration and the background music while you eat. I will surley try to eat there another time when im visiting Hastings. You should do that too, you will have a nice evening and a delicious dinner :)

Not knowing any restaurants In Hastings we found the Jali Indian restaurant on Trip Advisor it's next to and part of the Chatsworth hotel on the seafront. We had to ring the hotel number to book as the restaurant number on the Trip Advisor didn't seem to work. It has fresh modern decor and we sat by the fireplace under the picture of all the Indian Gods. The staff were very attentive and very good service and friendly. The food was lovely apart from they used frozen spinach in the curry sauces which colours it all green, fresh spinach is best:-) Also it would have been nice to have some quiet background Indian music to give some atmosphere. But overall we enjoyed it:-) thank you :-)

We have dined at Jali several times and keep returning because it simply offers the best Indian cuisine in the area. The ambience is quiet and relaxed, bordering on stylistic against the cliché Indian eatery one often finds; the environment augmented by an excellent personal service that will have you reeling for more. One visit and like us you’ll want to return.
