Great Expectations meets Fawlty Towers
We had booked a table for eight so we were expected. Orders drinks in the cosy little bar and decided to take them into the garden. No offer too take them out there on a tray. One of our party had been trying to organise some bubbly over the phone to be ready as it was a Special occasion, but the phone had been out of order for two days. Our order was taken for seven of us ,leaving one order missed and poor Malcolm had to go to the kitchen to find the waiter to place his order. The waiter then came out again after this to say he was now missing one of the main course orders.
Food was okay and in fact some of the choices were found to be delicious. Lacking final touches, and garnish. Some of us had to wait a long time for the main course while others came quickly. SURELY MEALS SHOULD ALL BE SERVED AT THE SAME TIME. Oh and the great expectations well they turned more into the Dickens novel with this beautiful building looking distinctly tired and in need of some TCL.More
