The museum section are the rear is interested, although not particular well labelled. There are quite a few staircases to negotiate.

Make the time to go, small but well worth it...we we lacked up from the town and were the only ones there. History and architecture in a very accessible way.

Beautiful Tudor building nicely restored with a wealth of displays inc probably the best gallery of Wealden Iron objects and artefacts west of Haslemere. Bookshop with good range of Sussex history books. Lots of domestic items inc toys which should keep children happy. Could do with a bit of a dust and freezing inside, but you won't be disappointed. Disabled parking outside. Some floors not suitable for disabled access. Love it! All Tudor scholars should isit.

We came across this hidden gem by chance on a recent visit to Lewes. The house is quirky and extremely well preserved with several additions made over the years. The bedroom on the first floor is really impressive and worth a visit on its own.
