Southover Grange gardens are very attractive, but in recent years have moved away from being a park that was great for everyone to enjoy, to being very much focused on the 'gardens' aspect. At times it can resemble a theme park devoted to fences. If you want to come and sit here and drink tea while admiring the planting, it's fine, although it has a curious mix of garden styles, from the very attractive knot garden to the frankly naff raised bed of heathers and rose garden. If you're a kid wanting to run around and explore, climb a tree, or kick a ball around, all those things you should be doing rather than sitting at home with a games console, you're out of luck, as some heavy-handed council employee will come and tell you off.
