“Dreadful service”
Review of Spring Barn Farm

A friend and I went here for lunch and a catch up during her lunch-hour from work, so we only went to eat and visit the farm shop.

The restaurant /cafe was cosy but basic and we sat next to the wood burner. The service was dreadful! We tried to order at the desk and although the staff were lovely, we were told it was table service, we waited and waited and reminded them again (it was in our lunch-hour!!) and eventually we got served.

That said, the food was really lovely, hot, tasty and home cooked. Wasn't the cheapest lunch but quite reasonable for the standard of food.

The shop was deserted and we never saw any staff!! Usual farm shop stuff - nicely laid out but nothing special.

Would definitely return for lunch again.

Visited with my toddler nephew and adored this quaint animal farm. Not expensive, gorgeous animals, tasty treats in the farm shop, excellent play area and good cafe food. Worth a visit if you are in the area and the little one loved it.

A lovely day out in the Sussex sunshine!! The piggie racing, tractor rides, meet the animals plus all the animals & the different play areas make for a great day out!!! My two year old loved the mini tractors & the sheep - we'll be back!
The food looked good & the coffee was great.
The only negative is having to pay the same price for a two year old as you would for a fourteen year old - but my son loved it!!

Well organised but not clinical. Staff all appeared to be making a real effort and lots for children of all ages. I especially enjoyed the drop slide at 57 - egged on by the supervisor. Pig racing was also fun! Best of it's type for miles around.

These guys have got the balance spot on. This is a "no gimmicks", small working farm, and provides a happy, good-quality, authentic day out in the Sussex countryside. The location is gorgeous, you just look up and you're surrounded by The Downs, pheasants, rabbits, etc. There is a fantastic range of activities - both indoors and out. My 4 year old loves the dropslides inside the barn (which are especially nice during quieter, less hectic times of the week). You can get your hands a bit dirtier and pet the small animals, feed spring lambs etc. And they've got fantastic "jumping pillows" outdoors (again, better during less hectic times). There's a great cafe/restaurant which do great coffee, or meals if you fancy splashing out. The staff are sooo friendly. We are members and go at least once a week - rain or shine. Can't recommend it enough.
