Four of as a a family visited this lovely cottage with a super garden.
Setting in the country side was amazing.
The choice of teas was first class and the sandwiches, and cakes were delicious.
The scones / cream tea were as good as any London hotel afternoon tea.
On a sunny day you couldn't ask for more.
Definitely going back soon.

Friends who live nearby took us for a cream tea here. Even though the tearoom adjoins the combined post office and shop, we might not have noticed the little front door of the tiny cottage was a tearoom if we'd been travelling past. It was a chilly afternoon so we were glad to find seating indoors. There are only 15 seats and we were told that all were filled from mid-morning through lunchtime, but that wouldn't be a problem on a sunny day as there are plenty more tables in the pretty garden out the back.
The friendly smiling owner was serving and also preparing the food. We didn't have to wait long for our food and drinks. Three different pots of tea and a cappucino came nice and hot with attractive vintage tea cups and saucers. Our scones were warmed and fresh, not dry or heavy, delicious. The individual dishes of jam and clotted cream were generous, with half a large sweet English strawberry on the side.
The cakes on the counter looked tempting and any sandwiches we were told are made fresh on ordering.
Only two things might cause a problem for some. There's no designated car park, but we found a space at the roadside opposite fairly close. The one toilet (very clean, with babychange table) is outside down a garden path.

Doing a walk with friends a number of us descended at 4pm . In spite of overwhelming the little tea room 10 of us were served with all sorts of different teas and cakes very cheerfully in minutes . The homemade cakes were wonderful .The prices very reasonable . A jewel just off the busy A27 and near to Glynde Station . Worth a detour .

Combined with the village post office and local shop you’ll find a tiny but quaint tearoom. It’s like stepping back in time. We received a friendly welcome and the food was good too. My toasted sandwich was accompanied by salad garnish, crisps and a lovely chutney. We didn’t venture to the garden as it was raining, we’ll do that next time. Dogs are welcome. Thoroughly recommend.
