The property is delightful and the room guides friendly and knowledgeable making a visit even more interesting. The gardens and grounds are a perfect old English country garden and Virginia Woolfs writing lodge is beautifully situated and calming. All in all a visit not to be missed particularly if you are interested in the Bloomsbury set.

This is worth a visit if you're in the area and interested in V Woolf and Co. The rooms available to see are interesting, if few and small. The garden is a delight, if a bit in need of TLC. I was told that the gardener had just left (not to return...)

Interesting insight into the lives of Virginia and Leonard Woolf. Charming house, although quite small it is full of original features and furniture. The garden is lovely - just the right size to wander around and ideal to take a picnic hamper and sit and look at the lovely countryside.

The NT volunteers that were there today were very helpful and informative and in some cases their personal links with the property and grounds meant we heard lots of details about the place not in any guides.

It is not of a size where you would spend several hours wandering around but on a sunny day like today a nice place to take a packed lunch and a book to relax after looking at the house and gardens.

Easy to find (with my satnav) and parking well-signposted. Interesting to see the rooms in the house but the visit is more about the history and its location, the wonderful, free-flowing garden plus the more structured features, the view and the busts of Leonard and Virginia. The old tool shed with the photographs was, for me, the best part and the whole visit was enhanced by readings from Virginia Woolf's short stories by a NT volunteer.

This attraction certainly benefits from being visited on a dry day.

We did not spend much time on the house, being mainly in the garden on a photography course. The gardens were very nice - a bit chaotic in some way, but I guess a garden which would have suited the taste of the Bloomsbury set - especially Virginia Woolf who lived there from 1919 to her death in 1941. Her bedroom which you entered from the garden was a bit unusual.
