“Well located, rooms a little small”
Reviewed 10 April 2014 via mobile

The service, breakfast, location were great. Though the rooms were a little small for us. We found the bed small and the bathroom was tiny. Though it was clean and the staff were friendly. It was very traditional too, which is not out personal style.

Hi Katie, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Unfortunately i don't know which room you stayed in so i cant reply specifically. We do have a varied range of room sizes because we are within the citadel and the building was not originally built as a hotel.

I had good memories of Rye from a childhood visit more than 50 years ago. When I saw a newspaper advert for Rye Lodge, I decided to book a short break there with my wife. Hoping that Rye would be as lovely as I remembered, we were not disappointed and the Hotel proved to be an excellent choice. A very friendly welcome awaited us and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We had wondered whether the lack of a restaurant in the Hotel would be a drawback but we thoroughly enjoyed trying some of the varied dinner venues in Rye, all only a few minutes walk from Rye Lodge.. We would recommend both the town and this Hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful, friendly and interesting destination for a break. We travelled by train from Chester which we found very convenient and did not need a car during our stay.

Room Tip: Speak to Hotel first for advice on availability. Superior room spacious and comfortable with nice vi...

Where to begin? The reception from this hotel was second to none. We were immediately given an upgrade to the loveliest, quirkiest and most beautiful room. Everything about it was perfect. Spotlessly clean and immediately wanted to stay longer. Rye itself is a fantastic place to visit and I would recommend The Rye Lodge Hotel as a great base. Everything is to hand and easily accessible from RLH. Really enjoyed the banter with the member of staff who served the afternoon tea he was genuinely funny and welcoming. The pool and sauna were a great place to relax after a sightseeing afternoon around the town before a siesta and an evening meal. The breakfast hit the spot and set us up for the day. Would definitely go back again and hope we got the same room.

Room Tip: Loved room 18

I had to participate to a seminar in Rye, UK, and I have been recommended to stay at this hotel. I was skeptical in the beginning, but after my arrival I understood why my colleagues recommended me this place: it looks very nice, it is clean and the rooms have a very attractive design. The hosts are friendly and they really know to treat their customers. The surroundings are very quiet, making this place the perfect location for resting and enjoying small walks.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet and nice.

I stayed at the Rye Lodge a couple of times and always confortably and nicely taken care of. Rooms are spacious and well kept, beds are confortable and room amenities are fine. The Hotel is just inside tha Landgate , with views on the marshes and river Rother, so with all access to shops and dining places in town. Catering at the lodge is very good and breakfast is very nice.

I recently had to fly to UK for a business meeting and my client suggested Rye as it was a nice & quiet place. Boy he wasn't wrong for a bit. Though small it has a strong personality due to the lovely surroundings and friendly people.

We stayed at the Rye Lodge Hotel where we could carry on with our meetings. It was so relaxing and we were so focused on our campaign that we didn't realize how efficient we were. The staff was wonderful and cared for our every will.

A great place to disconnect from the crowded cities, clear your mind and focus on your work. I will surely come back with my husband as well to enjoy this peaceful place.

My Wife and I have just returned from a relaxing few days at the Rye Lodge Hotel, it is the fourth time that we have stayed there, and we found ourselves in room 16 which with windows on three sides gives one the most amazing views, surely the most spectacular in Rye.

The quality and service that the staff give can only be described as first class, and one is greeted like an old friend. Needless to say we will be returning.

Room Tip: Each time we have visited we have enjoyed different rooms, they have all been first class, but room...
