Some friends and I stayed at the Hope Anchor Hotel in Rye on Saturday night. We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff are superb; professional, helpful and most welcoming. The hotel itself is a wonderful mix of old and new. We had a combination of Deluxe Doubles and Four Poster Rooms, all of which were beautifully presented. There was a well stocked coffee and tea tray (with decent teacups!) and complimentary biscuits and bottles of water. The cooked breakfast is the best I have had at a hotel in a long time. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and am looking forward to a return visit. A couple of people drove and parking isn’t easy in Rye but the hotel provides you with permits so you can park in the immediate vicinity. However, some of us caught a train as it’s only a 5 minute walk to the hotel.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Although famous for its past, the Hope Anchor is known locally for its stunning views across the Quayside, Romney Marshes, Camber Castle and beyond to the sea. Most of our rooms enjoy these panoramic views and to be honest they need to be seen to be believed.
