My fiancé and myself have just spent a lovely couple of nights at Jeakes House and can highly recommend it.
We stayed in the elders suite which was perfect, very steep stairs to the room but all part of the charm and was very clean and the beds were very comfy.
There isn't much else I can say about Jeakes that hasn't been said before wonderful breakfasts, great hospitality, perfect location for exploring and the honesty bar was a nice touch which we used both nights for a bailey's night cap.
All in all a very happy and would definitely be choosing jeakes again next time we go to Rye.

Room Tip: Webbes seafood restaurant is a must, as well as great seafood do try a bottle of the white wine call...

We spent a wonderful weekend here. Beautifully decorated rooms and the bed was very comfortable. Delicious breakfast and a fully stocked honesty bar. Jeake's House has a lovely, warm feel to it and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating.
Will definitely be returning.

My husband and I just spent two lovely nights at Jeake's House in November 2013.

We were torn between a few places in Rye but went with Jeakes as it was our anniversary and wanted somewhere a bit special.

We certainly weren't disappointed! The rooms were excellently appointed with teas coffees and water all provided. The owners have stayed true to the history of the house but and sensitively installed all the mod cons.

Breakfast was fantastic and made all the more special by the greedy cat. In summary if you are looking for somewhere a bit special - look no further.

Very difficult to find new adjectives to fully describe Jeakes. The setting, the rooms, the breakfasts and the attentive friendly service all make up any stay here into a wonderful experience. Set inn Mermaid street ads to the charm as this is the most famous street in Rye. What I found delightfully quirky is that you can only call them to book rooms. This way they get a feeling as to if you are a suitable guest. With an 'honesty bar' perhaps all guests really must be honest!

Stumbling upon the Jeakes House in Rye proved to be a real find. Located up one of the most historic, and steepest streets in the town, Jeakes House is almost the perfect place to stay. Consisting of two historic properties, the Jeakes House could prove to be difficult to access, as the street is steep and the stairs inside are steep and narrow. However, that is what you would expect in a historic building. From our arrival everything was designed to make our stay comfortable. Our hosts and the staff were helpful and welcoming, guests were trusted to use the honesty bar. The rooms were beautifully decorated, and in sympathy with the building. Our private bathroom was modern, the bed was comfortable with good quality linen, the tea and coffee was Fair Trade rather than bulk bought catering supplies. Breakfast was served in the Quaker Meeting House. It was all freshly cooked with well sourced products. Parking was available a few minutes walk from the House. The town of Rye is very walkable and the Jeakes House was seconds away from the High Street.
