Bob &Sally, what a lovely couple, from speaking to them on the phone,to receiving directions we couldn't have been more welcomed. After showing us around the converted stables (fitted to a very high standard)we settled in with a wonderful welcome pack.Bob &Sally were more than happy to use their vast local knowledge in suggesting places to eat and visit. Suffice to say we had a wonderful relaxing weekend and look forward to a return visit. Paul & Gilly

“The perfect getaway”
Reviewed 21 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

From start to finish a brilliant week. Armed with directions we turned up to a genuinely warm welcome from Bob and Sue and were then shown round the most comprehensively equipped property we have ever stayed in. The welcome pack is a nice touch to see you through your first day but if you have time pop round to the local independent supermarket for supplies, it's as if they're an extension of the property. Then sit back, relax and enjoy your stay. If the weather's good sit out with a drink, maybe enjoy the barbie, if there's a rustling in the bushes perhaps the badgers have come along to welcome you as well. TV, DVD, CD etc, are all there should the weather turn. Just the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful local countryside.

“The perfect break”
Reviewed 2 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

My wife and I have just arrived back from a lovely visit to East Sussex staying at the Aspen. When we arrived, Sally and Bob gave us a warm welcome and a welcome pack and showed us around the cottage. They then left us in peace, telling us to contact them with any questions, problems. We didn't need to as every comfort was anticipated in the accomodation.

The cottage was perfectly clean and tidy with all the mod cons of a slick London home, but out here in the peaceful countryside. We've stayed in 4 star hotels that would be put to shame by this place!

Not only was the cottage decorated to a luxury standard, the home has books, music and everything you need to simply stay in the cottage and never venture to all the tourist sites within a short drive from the cottage!!!

There is a private garden which my wife spent many happy hours drinking coffee or having a glass of wine at night watching the stars - as Londoners, we don't often get a chance to see the stars.

I can't fault the place, and the only regret was leaving this peaceful place to drive back to hectic, noisy London...!!

“An idyllic retreat in East Sussex”
Reviewed 21 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Arrived at Aspen after a long journey to a very hospitable welcome from Bob and Sally. Really appreciated the welcome pack. The cottage is in a wonderful quiet rural location, beautifully appointed and comfortable. A perfect location to visit Sissinghurst, Great Dixter and Rye. Highly recommend.

“The BEST Self Catering Accommodation we stayed in.”

All our dealings were wonderful from the very first attempt at making a booking, receiving directions and being met with sufficient food to see us through to the following day.
Extremely comfortable and clean accommodation, with every foreseeable thing provided.

“A perfect country cottage”
Reviewed 25 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were very impressed with the standard of accommodation and the welcome provided by Bob and Sally. The cottage was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. The sunny private garden had plenty of seating and sun loungers. All in all, the perfect country cottage.

A warm welcome from Bob and Sally. Excellent accommodation which had all facilities - and more. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the furnishings and fittings were of a very high standard. Lovely kitchen and bathroom. Sally delivered a basket of goodies which was a very kind and welcome gesture.

The garden is lovely to sit out in with a glass of wine or pot of tea and cake.

Time passed too quickly - looking forward to returning.
