We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in Aspen cottage, situated about 10 minutes from Rye, in the quiet village of Beckley. Bob and Sally really made us feel very welcome and we're so helpful. The cottage is beautifully arranged with everything you could possibly need, a real home from home. Perfect location for exploring nearby Rye and Winchelsea.
Everything you could wish for in a cottage. High quality furniture and fittings and all spotlessly clean. Beautiful setting and easy parking. The only down side was that there is no control of the heating although on this occasion we didn't need it.
The owners were very helpful and informative about the area and could not have been more pleasant.
We spend ten days at Bobs and Sallys place in the so called “Aspen” house, which provides plenty of space in its rooms which are furnished with good taste. The house has its own private Garden which you can enter from the sitting room. Sunbeds, chairs and tables make this garden an ideal place to rest. In addition to the cosy atmosphere of the rooms and the garden, Bob and Sally do their outmost to make you feel home and comfortable. They can and do provide their guests with any information required even with recipes and advise for Indian cooking of which Bob is an expert.
We will certainly come back and can warmly recommend the place.
We cannot praise Sally & Rob enough as they have covered everything and it certainly ticked all our boxes and more .Set in a beautiful area with nice walks along the quiet country lanes, what a gem this place is! Arriving to a basket of goodies, with comfy beds, super equipped kitchen, wet room, and fantastic lounge/ dining area that opens up with a barn door onto a private garden. The garden equipped with seating areas and sun loungers looking out onto a natural field full of birdsong, the occasional deer and even a pheasant was spotted. So much thought has gone into these cottages and the owners deserve 5 stars, it is the best we have stayed in for sure.
If I could give 10 I would...!! The accommodation was superb BUT the owners, Bob & Sally were excellent and very lovely & helpful people. I had an emergency which they took up and eventually resolved the issue for me. They went beyond what they needed to do to help me and I was overwhelmed by their assistance. As I first stated the accommodation was ideal for us - my wife is disabled and the facilities were excellent for her. Everything you could need - walk in shower, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker & hob, all kitchen implements, TV, CD player etc etc. Also the garden is ideal as it is secluded and not overlooked, Could not fault the visit .... thank you Bob & Sally !!!!
The owners couldn't have done any more to make our stay really comfortable in their beautifully arranged holiday cottage. So much to see and do in the surrounding area.
This is a lovely cottage set in a beautiful, quiet location with kind and friendly owners. Sally and Bob made us so welcome when we arrived for our weekend break over the August bank holiday, setting us up with a very generous welcome pack. The cottage is extremely spacious and comfortable for two people and I would say that it is up there with the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. It is spotlessly clean and very well equipped- a home from home. There is real attention to detail and genuine care to make a stay in this cottage a great experience. For us the garden was a particular delight with a sheltered sun trap seating area where we were able to enjoy eating our evening meal looking out across the paddock.
The location was great for us being a short drive into Rye and the beach at Camber but also very convenient base for exploring further afield. We will definitely stay here again as we loved it so much.
