“Lovely quiet beach”

If you want to escape the busy Brighton beaches, head down to Seaford for a relaxing afternoon on the beach (35 minutes by train - alight at Bishopstone Hill Rise). The train journey in itself is lovely, arriving at the quaint little deserted station from which it's a 1 minute walk down to the beach. Stroll along the beach down to the cliffs for a lovely view of the Seven Sisters passing the multicoloured beach huts on the way. If you position yourself by the sailing club you might even be able to catch a ride with one of the sailers who are sometimes looking for crew!

This pebble beach is quite beautiful. I spent time visiting with family last summer and stil can't get over the quaint beach huts that line the beach to the east. The Mr. Whippy ice cream truck is a welcome distraction to the west, absolutely wonderful creamy 99's

I've also visited in the Winter and found the views awesome in rough weather, the water of the English Channel lookes wickedly cruel.

We came to Seaford for family holidays forty eight years ago! We stayed on the Sunnyside Caravan site, which is still there. Loved it as children, and now as a great grandmother who has rediscovered Sussex as a perfect area for walking, find Seaford as good as ever. Clean shingle beach, long traffic free esplanade excellent for children, buggies and wheelchairs. Great walks across the downs for the more energetic of us and good place to spot birds. Not a place for exotic eating, but plenty of good value cafes and supermarket selling sandwiches and picnic food. Easy to get to by public transport. For a Londoner, it is by far the best day out with small children, and as another reviewer pointed out, you do not have to spend LOTS OF MONEY to have an enjoyable day.

lovely little town. We travelled through with our campervan. There was a separate car park for vehicles of an LGV or HGV size. Beach was lovely and town accomodating.
