Jane and Martin are wonderful hosts and make every effort to make you comfortable. Their dining/breakfast room is most welcoming with fresh flowers on every table. The breakfasts were deliciously cooked and beautifully presented. We had a family room which was comfortable and very clean with very generous supply of tea/coffee/milk. The bathroom was immaculately clean with a generous amount of complimentary toiletaries, although it was rather small. The Avondale is very centrally situated and is only minutes away from bus/train connections. An ideal location for anybody wanting a convenient base for the South Downs Way .

Stayed for one night while playing golf at the local Seaford Head golf course. The Staff were helpful and friendly and made sure that we had everything that we required. Would definately return, just hope the sun shines as well.

Best breakfast I've had anywhere, faultless.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay, we were made very welcome as soon as we walked through the front door .After a family funtion in the town that evening we arrived back very very late, this was not a problem as we had a front door key. Breakfast in the morning was first class, even providing a hangover cure!!! My only negative observation was that in our shared bathroom there was not a hand sink to wash ones hands..

This was our fourth visit to the Avondale, Jane & Martin are the perfect hosts thier warm friendly disposition immediatly put you at ease. They are always available to give advice regarding the best places to eat, places to see & things do in and around Seaford

The hotel is extremely clean and tidy, the bedrooms are very comfortable and always have the extra special touches that make the stay special. Breakfast is superb with a great choice available, especially the full English.

The staff are very friendly and accomodaitng and go out of thier way to be helpful, nothing is to much trouble.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a warm friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Due to a family bereavement, my husband, myself and 11yr old son needed to find accommodation quickly in order to visit family in Seaford. As neither of us knew the area, I had a look at the reviews on here to get some idea of what was available. We chose The Avondale, Seaford.

We arrived late on Good Friday to be greeted by Martin & Jane Home, the owners. Martins easy manner and Janes sense of humour immediately made us feel at ease. We were shown to a family room (with en suite) which was spotless and felt relaxing. Given that it was Easter weekend, we came back from visitng relatives on Saturday night to find a box of chocolates laid on the bed which was lovely (especially since I'd forgotten to bring any down for my son!!).

Each morning, we had a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast but there is a huge choice to be had, not just a full English, ranging from fruit, yoquarts, fresh salmon & scrambled egg, cereals etc. Despite slaving over the proverbial hot stove, Jane looked as fresh as a daisy everytime she came into the dining room! My son loved the breakfast times, especially the bacon! All the staff we met during our stay were lovely and friendly and you got the impression that nothing would be too much trouble for them.

Even though the circumstances around our stay were obviously very sad, the stay at The Avondale was a very positive and we certainly would'nt go anywhere else in that area as it ticks all the boxes for us. I've had some bad experiences with hotels usually because I can't stand to be made to feel like yet another paying customer and can assure anyone choosing to stay here, will not be made to feel anything but welcome - it's almost like stopping at a friends home that you haven't seen for a long time -you can just kick off your shoes and feel at home.

My son and I stayed for 3 nights with my husband and my husband stayed on another 2 nights for the funeral - it was excellent value for money for the total of 5 nights. We'll definitely be going back again!!

We arrived at the Avondale in Seaford after a long journey. The hotel looked lovely with its window boxes and tubs . We were welcomed by Martin, who organised a tray of tea and nibbles, and then showed us to our room. Our accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the kitchen had no problem in catering for my husband (a dedicated meat eater) and me - the veggie. The pancakes are highly reccommended! We also had lunch on Sunday which was a triumph. All in all, a lovely stay and we can't wait for the chance to go back.

We arrived at the hotel earlier than normal but we had requested this in advance which was agreed. Unfortunately the room was not ready, it needed vacuuming. The room was quite large but furniture was old fashioned. The twin beds were comfortable. The en-suite bathroon with shower was cramped but adequate. When we returned to the room quite late some of the lights were not working and the vacuuming not done. The lights had tripped and it was fixed on request in the morning, apparently a fairly common occurrence. The breakfast was slow but freshly cooked and good quality. Street parking was difficult if you like to be close to the hotel.
Overall it was OK but I think £70 per room B.B. per night is a bit pricey. Unfortunately the going rate in the area.
