“Charming gem for lunch or tea with added attraction (and great shop!)”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

As it was raining on my husband's birthday, we decided to have lunch in the tea-room. The plan had been to have dinner out in the evening, however, the portions were so generous that we didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. The crab salad apart from being enormous was delicious and the lemon meringue pie was the best I have ever tasted. We would be tempted to return just for that! Other people were having the afternoon tea which also looked very tempting. We found the service to be both friendly and helpful. We would definitely return here another time, our only criticism was that where we sat there were no windows and it was a little dark. We enjoyed looking round the museum after we had eaten as well as buying some of the tempting delights on offer in the lovely shop, all in all we would both recommend the tea room, museum and shop, indeed we plan to take friends there when an opportunity arises.

“Quaint and Interesting”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Often drive past this place on route to Mersey - but no more. The staff were busy but very courteous. We sat out side and had a cream tea - omg to die for - worth the wait. Didn't walk round museum but had a look in the shop and took away several pots of their jam. Prices are very reasonable. Wish I could have stayed longer - but there will be a next time!!!!

“Charming”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

Vistited Tiptree yesterday, very charming and very English. Arrived for lunch in the tearoom and had a lovely homemade quiche with new potatoes and salad. The quiche was very enjoyable. We then had a look round the museum and then visited the shop and bought several pots of jam. We then stopped for tea with scones, jam and cream which were delicious. Would highly recommend. Well worth a visit.

“Lovely cream tea”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

As a resident of Tiptree I visit the tea room often for one of thier delicious cream teas. I find the staff very courteous and service is very good, though you may have to queue for a short while for a table as the tea rooms are so popular. Their prices are very reasonable and in line with most tea rooms. Tiptree may not be the most beautiful village but ugly it is not, as one previous reviewer very curtly said, but a very nice village with shops, banks, supermarkets, doctors and dentists which don't make for beauty. On the other hand the people are beautful in nature with their friendliness and neighbourliness are second to none. Overall a lovely village to live in.

“Great for an hour and lunch”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We called in whilst driving through the area last sunday. We bought some delicious jams from the factory shop. We ate in the restaurant, the food was superb, we had a ploughmans and a quiche, the portions were huge and the quality excellent. The museum is very small but it is interesting, Worth a visit if in the area, but not a day out and no factory tour,
