“Quaint Pub with rooms.”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

The rooms at The Catherine Wheel are well appointed although the bathroom in the Bibury Room was on the small side and like many establishments I have experienced there is never enough shelf space. However the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and warm.
The pub and restaurant were first class in this delightful old Cotswold village.
The service was excellent from all the staff and we enjoyed a splendid dinner.
Breakfast did not start until 9am which is a bit later than we would have preferred and as we arrived at 8.55 not everything had been set.

Stopped off at The Catherine Wheel looking for somewhere to get a meal. Was welcomed by a very friendly local at the bar ( great real ale recommendation!) & very friendly barman. Shown to a table in the lovely restaurant extension next to the bar and both myself and mum chose the Sunday Roast Beef. We didn't have to wait long before the meal was served with vegetables and a pot of gravy. The beef was tasty and served with lovely roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. We both thoroughly enjoyed the meal and finished with two clean plates. We finished our superb Sunday lunch with a lovely cup of coffee. We had a really great, relaxed Sunday lunch, served by very kind, friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend a visit here for Sunday lunch and looking at the choices on the menu a visit at any other time would also be worth while. Looking forward to a return visit! Many thanks to all at the pub!!

We took a short break in the Cotswolds, staying at inns with good dining. The Catherine Wheel had a good rep on here and so we gave it a go. I don't know the Cotswolds well so the village of Bibury was a charming surprise. The Catherine Wheel is a charming old building and the interior is nicely decorated, in a modern country-chic style. The room was in a converted single storey barn in the car park. Very unimpressive from the outside but fear not - our room and ensuite were excellent. Again, modern country-chic and very well appointed. Dinner was also good... my wife's starter of cheese and mustard choux was a little overdone but other than that the standard was high and very enjoyable. Breakfast was good the next day and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a very enjoyable short stay and I would definitely go there again.

On our first visit to the Cotswolds we were thrilled to find the charming village of Bibury. Our stay at the Catherine wheel was perfect. Great modernized rooms and the restaurant itself is superb. Would definitely recommend this place even of it's just to stop and eat.

We stayed over on a Saturday night and we loved it. Great staff. Room was fab with large comfy bed. Good ensuite. We slept well, and there was no noise from the pub. The breakfast was served quickly - and there was lots of it. We'll be back.

My wife took me for lunch on my birthday. After a walk around the village and a visit to the trout farm we arrived at the Catherine Wheel for lunch, the staff were very friendly, the atmosphere good and we enjoyed the food. Would recommend the pub and hope to visit again soon.
