“Fantastic stay”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

Beautiful hotel in a quaint village with lovely gardens and a stunning courtyard. We stayed for 2 nights DB&B.Everything was first class. Our room was at the front of the hotel, looking out over the gardens,my Mums room was overlooking the courtyard and both were beautifully decorated and furnished. The food was excellent, everything you could possibly want for breakfast, and a 3 course evening meal which was beautifully presented and tasted gorgeous. The staff were friendly, polite and professional and nothing was too much trouble for them...All in all a great weekend.

Room Tip: Book it,you wont be disappointed.

We stopped for lunch on a recent trip, it was very poor compared to all the other places we ate in the area.
We ate in the courtyard, ordered a ploughman's platter and received some processed cheese, processed ham, a golden delicious apple, two small scotch eggs and a basket of bread.
Service was pleasant enough but pretty awful, they didn't really know what they were doing.
In an area so rich in produce this was poor, would not recommend.

This was our second stay here and our first time in the actual hotel, previously we stayed in one of the adjacent little cottages belonging to the hotel. As before the experience was divine, this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The food is great and the setting and ambience is just perfect for a relaxing break. We will certainly be back again in the future.

Myself & a group of friends visited this hotel the day after going to a wedding nearby.
The menu was quite basic but expensive but we kind of thought, well you get what you pay for so the food must be good!
Anyway, after waiting over an hour for it, it wasn't. When we asked if our food was coming etc they just told us to wait & when it did finally arrive in dribs & drabs they failed to even give us cutlery!
The village is beautiful & highly recommended but find somewhere else to eat.

We stayed at The Swan for 2 night recently. The hotel was lovely. The room was well decorated and very comfortable. The restaurant was fabulous. Great food and service.

The hotel location allowed us to use it as a base for travel within the Cotswolds and surrounds. We will definitely stay at The Swan again.

Arranged for 8 of us to dine for Sunday lunch for my partners 30th. Prior to arrival staff were extremely helpful with my requests and nothing was too much trouble. Food was of a good standard my only niggle was I prefer the vegetables to be served separate instead Of being put on my plate , however despite this will shall definitely return soon.

We went for lunch at The Swan last week. It's in a great location, with picture postcard surroundings and I had high hopes that the food would be great too. We were sat in the bar, as the brasserie was full, and were told we could order roast dinners as well as anything from the menu in that part of the restaurant. My self and my partner opted for the veggie burger and the others in our group went for a roast. When our food arrived, we were served beefburgers instead of bean burgers. Maybe, with our slightly more northern accents, something was lost in translation! Anyway, when the bean burgers did eventually arrive (about 15 minutes later, when the others had already nearly finished their meals), I was pretty disappointed. It looked the burger had come out of the freezer. It had a small blob of cheese on it, and no garnishes. All-in-all very dry! There was a small, fairly nondescript side salad and some french fries. Which, again, looked like something you'd find in the freezer section at the supermarket. Had the meal cost £7-£8 (as it would, top end, in Leeds), I could perhaps let it go without comment. But this was priced at £12.95! The same price as the beef burger. I would expect a gourmet burger for that price, with pickles, garnishes, some indication that it had been handmade with chunky hand cut chips etc etc. It was SO overpriced for what it was!
