We spent two lovely nights based at this charming hotel which is in a fantastic location. Our room was #8 a deluxe double overlooking the beautiful Swan Hotel garden at the front. Bedroom, bathroom all clean and first class as were the amenities. There was free wifi....ok, so the mobile service was not good but we can live without mobiles for 2 days and was really was quite welcoming. The breakfast selection was excellent and the flavour of the food did not disappoint....the drambuie marmalade was to die for! The only reason I did not mark our hotel stay excellent was our bathroom was not fully cleaned during our stay although it was spotless when we arrived also a couple of the reception staff were below par and let the hotel standard down however that would not deter us from returning at a later date.

Room Tip: Be specific when booking your room then you should not be disappointed. We wanted a room with a view...

I met a friend at this place. We sat by the window and had lemon drizzle cake. I stayed in the Owl room - a free upgrade. The bed was fantastic, but we flooded the floor of the bathroom after an over exuberant bath.

Lack ot phone mobile phone signal is an issue, but there is free Wifi and the hotel will let you use their phone.

I was so over the moon at having spent a wonderful afternoon, that I actually drove from the villiage on the wrong side of the road, on cloud 9.

This place means so much to me, and I will never forget it.

Room Tip: Bathroom sublime

We've previously visited a couple of the other hotels in the group so our expectations of The Swan were definitely set by the positive experiences we'd had in the past, and influenced our decision to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a one night stay there. To be honest, we were a little disappointed with the experience. Yes, it's a quaint little country inn in a beautiful location, but in our view the service didn't quite live up to the price tag (for example, the lady at check-in wasn't terribly welcoming, check-out was lengthy as the bill was wrong) and, most disappointingly, the horrendous noise of other guests at night and (more annoyingly as it's within the control of the hotel) of staff hustling and bustling in the corridors from very early in the morning really ruined the peace and tranquillity of the place for us.

Our room was ok - I think we went for the standard category so it was rather compact with no view but it was clean and comfortable enough and the bathroom was a fair size.

We had pre- and post- dinner drinks in the little bar area, which, apart from us having to send our cocktails back because they hadn't been made properly (it seems one of the critical ingredients had run out so the barman just made them without it - I guess he expected us not to notice?!), were fine. It would have been nice to have been served at the table rather than having to order at the bar, and it might have been nice to get a few little nibbles with our drinks but we appreciated it's more of a pub style so accepted the pub level of service (despite the premium prices).

We had dinner at the restaurant and, although the wine list was uninspiring, the food was excellent - fresh local ingredients nicely presented (and breakfast the next morning was equally delicious). The ambience perhaps wasn't quite what we were expecting and, again, the price seemed high for the level of service we got but on the whole it was a pleasant evening.

Just spent 3 wonderful nights at the swan, it's been 8 years since we last stayed here and we were not disappointed. The hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard, cleanliness, service from the friendly attentive staff was fabulous everyone was so pleasant, professional and couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. We ate in both the courtyard bar and the brassiere, food was excellent, I'd read some reviews on tripadvisor which stated portions small and food expensive, we found this not to be the case the portions were just right and the price was no more than you would expect from a good restaurant, wine was also very reasonable.

Beautiful big room, massive bathroom, beautiful setting and views, great food - would definitely return. Got a romantic weekend package from Secret Escapes. Highly recommended! The three course meal with the package was superb and we even received a free bottle of wine and gift in our room!

Visiting Cheltenham races we stayed for 2 nights with our dog (cosy basket provided) and were totally impressed by the warm care and attention received by all the staff and the cosy, happy atmosphere within the hotel. Rooms spotless and very comfortable beds and feather pillows with boutique bathroom and we were made to feel special throughout our stay. Dinner was fabulous with homemade bread rolls, and the wine was very affordable for the outstanding soft, smooth red wine. Breakfast was to die for as freshly squeezed orange juice, honeycomb and homemade marmalades and smoked trout with creamy scrambled egg! Private garden by the brook is very pretty. Wood fires were lit first thing in the morning and still roaring away into the evening in the cwtch room and the bar. It was the attention to detail that impressed us so much.
Really did not wish to leave and will return as soon as possible!
I often stay at hotels and most are very ordinary and clinical but this is very special and all the staff are smiling! A big thank you to you all.

Room Tip: We recommend where we stayed in Mallard - a beautiful headboard with ducks and plumped feather pillo...

Today myself, husband and some friends took a nice Sunday drive to Bibury. We came across a lovely hotel called the Swan. We decided to stop and have some lunch there,we sat down and ordered a few drinks while reading the menu, it all seemed really lovely and decorated very nicely. BUT!! Then a couple of dogs came in but with different owners and then another person came in with two Labrador dogs. So now there are four dogs. People were eating and these dogs barking at each other another slobbering on the carpet and to top it off,one of the staff came around from the bar with a dog bowl. We couldn't believe this, how disgusting is this.we were looking forward to sitting down to a quiet Sunday meal. We drank up and walked out, that has put us off going back. Such a shame that this hotel has put animals before paying customers. Smokers have to smoke outside. I really don't think dogs should be allowed where food is being served. So DISGUSTING !
