It was a Tuesday evening. We had a party of six. It is advisable to book as this restaurant is quite popular. It was our last evening of our holiday and this meal ended it very nicely - cherry on the cake. It has a very varied menu from traditional dishes is steak to local fresh fish such as plaice and calamari. We ordered calamari, seared scallops, fish cakes and garlic breads as starters to share. It was all excellent. Scallops were sweet fresh and perfectly cooked. Calamari was very tender and tasty. Garlic bread with cheese was a delight! The mains are on the spot as well.We ordered sirloin steak, lamb shank, risottos, plaice, sea bass and chicken. All were excellent - perfectly cooked and well seasoned. We had a table outside on a very mild and warm summer's evening!

Stumbled on this restaurant when looking for lunch on a very busy Saturday. Ate lunch indoors the first time and had an excellent meal. Both children had ham, egg & chips which can be disappointing but the ham was beautiful, local, thick-cut. Eggs had very yellow yolks. And the chips were lovely & chunky & very fresh - not at all greasy. My husband & I had the shrimp, crab & avocado salad. This was a very generous salad with plenty of all the named ingredients. Service was friendly & attentive.
It was good enough for the children to ask to go back for supper later in the week. Thankfully we booked as they were very busy. We had a table outside overlooking the water. Good, varied evening menu. The children both had steak & mushroom pie which came with very light puff pastry and a huge amount of filling. This also came with a good selection of vegetables & chips.I had seabass on tagliolini with a lobster sauce. It was delicious. Perfectly cooked. Served with a good sized green salad. My husband had the chicken, ham & leek pie from the specials. It too came with vegetables & chips. He thoroughly enjoyed it & it certainly looked homemade.
Puddings were less impressive but still good. Profiteroles were large & well filled. The lemon cheesecake needed to be more tangy. The homemade apple & blackberry pie though looked devine - wasn't allowed close enough to try it!
Definitely recommend & definitely head here again on our next visit to the Cotswolds.

Excellent little restaurant, we popped in for lunch after trying next door at the waterfront tea room couldn't be bothered. We had an excellent lunch, including the steak and kidney pie, plough mans and crab and shrimp salad washed down with a bottle of Prosecco. Followed by desserts and coffee. Attentive service a great afternoon, would definitely recommend.
