The cottage was situated in a good part of the village, very near to all the shops and amenities, and of course, the beautiful riverside itself. It was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you need, should you cook for yourselves. The only niggle we had, was that because we stayed for two weeks we found the fridge and icebox a bit too small for our self catering needs, so a bigger fridge or fridge/freezer would be nice for a longer stay, but that wouldn't deter us from ever returning. The cottage was very old with some very interesting history to it, which all added to its charm, but it didn't pose any problems with head height or super steep stairs. We loved it here and really enjoyed our stay. We didn't want to come home! Bourton-on-the-Water (and the surrounding villages!) is a truly beautiful place!
The history and character in this cottage are really charming. The sitting room and bedrooms are cosy and the kitchen is clean and has everything you need, even for a long stay. We appreciated having a laundry too. Be ready for the very narrow driveway off the main road and hire a small car! The cottage is near the all the main walking paths into the countryside and it is the loveliest walking location you could want.
