“WEDDING ANNIVERSARY SUPRISE/STEVE & ROS”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Stayed here for the first time in March whilst visiting Cheltenham Races and was that impressed i took the wife to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary! Thank you to both Emma and John for being the perfect hosts. Prepare to burn off the calories from Johns breakfasts and Emmas cakes, then again you are in the perfect village to do just that !
We had a perfect weekend including the weather so cant wait until March 2015 until we visit again.
Good luck to you both on your BIG day especially the 4 legged ring bearer!

Room Tip: stayed in both rooms in the annexe and both were faultless

Good Morning Steve & Ros, we have just finished reading your review on Trip Advisor and in our Guest Book and both myself and Emma are glad that had a great stay upon your trip to The Cotswolds while at Cranbourne House...for the 2nd time! It's great to see you again and hopefully you will enjoy your 3rd time at Cranbourne House for the Cheltenham Festival if you make it again.

We are grateful to hear that everything from Emma's greeting to Cranbourne House, to my cooking for the breakfast was to your standards and we always aim to make our guests stay a relaxing and enjoyable break from start to finish. We are delighted that you were pleased with the room too. With regards to breakfast, it is the most important meal of the day after all, so we always aim to provide a sumptuous breakfast. Thank you for the comments about it being a calorie burner - that did make me chuckle.

If you do decide to book again for the Festival, please do contact us directly for availability or if you are passing Bourton-on-the-Water, please give us a ring and pop in for coffee, cake and a catch-up. So on behalf of Emma and myself enjoy the rest of 2014 and although we might not see you then we will hopefully see you in 2016.

John and Emma were gracious hosts and did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The beautifully furnished rooms added to the wonderful ambience and the breakfasts were exceptional. The scrumptious home cooked cakes were an extra bonus for afternoon tea which we enjoyed so much. The location was excellent being only a short walk to the village of Bourton on the Water. Altogether a most delightful experience and we would have loved to have stayed longer.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent

What a marvellous four days we had at Cranbourne House, it really was the most exquisite place to stay. The breakfasts were out of this world and your unbeatable hospitality made us feel we didn’t want to return home. The breakfasts were wonderful, such a lot of choice and all locally sourced produce. The home-made cakes in the afternoon were a real treat.
The Westcote Suite was lovely, spacious and very stylishly decorated, the furnishings were very impressive and an especially comfortable bed.
Such fantastic hosts and in the most beautiful Cotswolds setting, we can’t wait until we return again.

Fabulous welcome by Emma and tour of Cranbourne House. Such a lovely girl and a beautiful place to stay just a two minute walk into the main area of Bourton on the Water. Facilities, cleanliness, food, attention to detail was excellent and could not find fault at all. Lovely to meet Emma's parents too and looking forward to recommending Cranbourne House to everyone.

Room Tip: No tips necessary, everything was perfect.

John and Emma have created a charming retreat in the heart of the Cotswolds! The breakfast was the delicious, the rooms comfortable and outfitted with everything you could need, and the hosts were gracious, helpful, and accommodating. You could very easily walk to the local pubs and restaurants as well. Overall, a wonderful experience! Thank you again, John and Emma!

Good Morning Elizabeth, we have just finished reading your review and must say it was really great to hear that you both had an enjoyable stay with us on your journey across the pond from the USA. It's great to know that you really enjoyed the room and again thank you for all the lovely comments you said.

We are pleased that you enjoyed everything at Cranbourne, from the bedrooms and bathrooms to the communal areas such as the Conservatory, the Patio and the lounge - when you come away and stay with us, we want you to completely relax and unwind. Thank you for writing a lovely description about everything from the Breakfasts to the little extras in the room.

We are pleased that you enjoyed all the recommendations in and around the village. Bourton is a fantastic little place with loads to do and the great thing is that because we are just situated outside the village, you have the option to escape whenever you like. We know it can get busy in the village which is why we are more than happy to assist when our guests come back for a relaxing afternoon away from it all.

We look forward to coming and staying with you both in Washington on our visit to the states.

Take Care,

John Hallam

Cranbourne House takes B&B to another level. It compares with some of the 4 and 5 star hotels we have stayed in around the world and as always it's the people that make the difference. John and Emma are a hard working team that made us feel at home the moment you met them. They make it look easy because they are naturals - relaxed professionals at the top of their game. Thank you.

Good Morning Kevin & Pauline, we have just finished reading your review on Trip Advisor and we are so glad that you had a fantastic stay with us. Both the comments in our Visitor book and on Trip Advisor were so lovely to read, and both Emma and myself enjoyed reading these. It was such a fantastic weekend and the fact that the sunshine even came out for most of it made it that much better.

The comments comparing us to the hotel world were wonderful to hear, and we are only but happy to make such an impression. We do try our hardest to ensure that from the moment you arrive to when you leave that you have had a fantastic time. It is also great to hear that we make it look natural because lets be fair, there is nothing worse than going away and seeing a stressed out team...it takes away your comfort, your relaxation and your experience of the property. So we are glad that both our professional manner is portrayed in this way.

It is us who should be saying thank you for the lovely review and for choosing to stay with us at Cranbourne B&B - hopefully we will see both yourself and Pauline again up at Nanny Brow in the near future.

Take Care and enjoy the rest of this gorgeous Summer we've had so far.

This is a well-run B&B. John and Emma were lovely hosts, helpful and pleasant without being intrusive. It's located on a quiet street just a short stroll to the busy part of Bourton-on-the-Water. Bourton-on-the-Water is not really my cup of tea, being a little too crowded and busy with tourists, but it has a number of restaurants and services, and the center of the town is very pretty on a summer evening. Because Cranbourne House is not directly in the center, it was perfectly quiet. The public areas of the property are very nice, including a lounge, garden, and solarium.

I stayed in the Icomb room, which has attractive and comfortable furnishings and a large bathroom. It doesn't have a shower, which is a little difficult when one is muddy after walking all day, but as it was the only available room when I booked, I knew what I was getting and can hardly fault the place for that. Breakfast is very nice, with many locally-sourced products. John and Emma were very accommodating to requests off the menu, which itself has a good selection. And I do like the touch of bringing cake to your room every afternoon!

So thanks for a lovely stay! A few years ago, I stayed at Nanny Brow, their property in the Lake District, and while I prefer the Lake District to the Cotswolds, it was great to experience the same high level of comfort and service in both locations.

Good Morning Cameron, we have just finished reading your review and it was such a lovely TripAdvisor review, we just wanted to say thank you very much for everything you said. It was lovely meeting you while on your trip of the UK while travelling in between conferences and I am glad that you had a relaxing few days away.

We are pleased that you enjoyed the village too - you're right that in the summer months it can get busy during the daytime - Bourton is a fantastic little place with loads to do and the great thing is, that because we are just situated outside the village, you have the option to escape whenever you like from the busy streets.

We really enjoyed seeing you take advantage of the conservatory and patio communal areas - especially as the weather was so beautiful. We are pleased that you enjoyed the breakfasts - for me I absolutely love making the muesli and the fruit salad. A positive and healthy start to each day! Thank you for the comments about Emma and myself - we do enjoy meeting and greeting our guests and doing everything we possibly can to ensure you are completely satisfied with your stay.

I do hope that if you are ever planning a trip back across the pond to the Cotswolds or The Lake District again you will either look at staying at Cranbourne House again or definitely pop in and say hello to us.

Kind Regards,

John Hallam
