We stayed at the beautiful 'Well Cottage' in December for two nights and it was wonderful. We wanted a short break before Christmas to help us get into the festive mood. When we arrived at Well Cottage it was icy and dark, but the cottage looked so cosy all lit up, it looked like it was out of a fairytale!
Inside the cottage had been suitably decorated for Christmas and we had been left a little welcome gift and card (fresh bread from Bakery on the Water and some lovely jams). The cottage was extremely clean and very inviting. The wooden beams are spectacular and the log burner was brilliant. It is an extra £15 for all the things you need to light the fire and you need to request this before arrival. One thing I would mention is you get through the Wood much quicker than you would expect! However it is worth it to have the log burner keeping you toasty!
The cottage is located a few minutes walk from the centre of Bourton on the Water and really couldn't be better placed exploring the village! The owners were very helpful on booking the cottage and made sure the house was warm for us when we arrived.
We will definitely be returning next Christmas!
This delightful cottage in the heart of Bourton but back from the bustle of the main High Street, just a two minute walk to restaurants, pubs and shops. Lovely comfortable beds, great shower! Full of character we would most definitely stay again. Nice touch from the owner to leave us some fresh bread and marmalade on arrival! Lots of beautiful walks right on the doorstep spoilt for choice.
Great location, about 20 yards from the Windrush and very close the cafes and bakeries of Bourton. The cottage itself is very original (its one of the oldest houses in the village), stone mullioned windows, low beamed ceilings and a flagged floor, large fireplace with a wood burner.
The cottage is beautifully presented and very clean. It has a small, but well stocked kitchen and a bathroom with a great shower. There is a TV, WiFi plus a selection of books and games. It has a lovely little cottage garden with a well and even a garden table and chairs. There is off road parking for 1 car which is great because its very narrow roads in the village.
Dawn was a great host, she popped round to check if were ok and had a chat, everything was very clear with no issues.
Another visit to Well Cottage and it was just PERFECT, spotless clean, very comfortable, well equipped, Good Sheets! I will stay again and again and again.
We were so very pleased that we chose Well Cottage as we found it to be charming and yet extremely comfortable. It could not be more picturesque. The location was another plus as it was a two minute walk to the town center. I definitely will stay here again if I'm lucky enough to return to Bourton on the Water!
What a delight to stay in Well Cottage. Cosy, perfect position, 2minute walk to numerous tea rooms and pubs. Gorgeous village surrounded by so many things to see. Delightful owner Dawn so helpful and easy to contact if needed. Well Cottage has been the highlight of our 3month uk wandering.
