The cottage is situated in walking distance of the town of Bourton-On-The - Water. The walks around the town are lovely and we visited an excellent family pub on the main street called The Mouse Trap. The cottage was beautifully appointed with everything that you would need for your stay, a big conservatory and fairly adequate parking. Rooms were lovely, beds comfortable and ample bathrooms/showers for a large family. Although it said 'no pets' Margaret and David agreed that we could bring a dog, which my family were very happy about. We would love to visit again.
Welcome cottage was very welcoming indeed!
Everybody that stayed with me commented on how lovely the place was and how well laid out it was. Lovely furnishings and great entertaining spaces made for great New Year’s weekend.
It is also in a very central location To the town centre so getting anywhere is very easy indeed. No need to worry about running out of booze! (Or eggs)
We rented the Welcome Cottage as there was a group of us attending a nearby wedding - and this made a fantastic value for money and preferable alternative to the Travel Lodge!
The cottage was located a 2 minute walk from the shops, over a pretty bridge and small stream. This was my first visit to the Cotwolds, and it was a great first impression. Before the wedding, we had time to explore the local town, get brunch and generally relax in the garden / conservatory of the cottage.
The cottage was well equipped - the kitchen had everything we needed, and some handy stock item for our stay such as tea, coffee, salt and pepper etc.
The rooms are all a good size, as are the bathrooms, the beds are comfy and the garden was beautiful. If we're ever up the area again then i would definitely rebook - between the 10 of us staying at the cottage, it made for great value for money and everyone had plenty of space.
This stunning cottage is located just a few minutes walk from the centre of Bourton on the Water so shopping couldn't be easier. Everything in the cottage was so thoughtfully done, from the wonderful displays of silk flowers to the quirky ornaments, making it all feel so homely. The cottage was fully equipped to a very high standard, with plenty of everything in the kitchen and bathrooms. We used it for a family birthday across a range of ages - everyone just fell in love with the cottage. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Welcome Cottage provided a lovely setting for my family to reunite from all around the world. The walking distance to the village is fantastic and all the amenities are provided from the Cornish Bakery for pastries and morning coffee to the three public houses providing reasonably priced food and a good selection of beers.
The Cottage itself was large enough for our party of twelve and the large conservatory provided for many an evening to enjoy drinks and nibbles and games nights aplenty.
A very enjoyable week was had by all my family.
Six of us had our 47th year Grammar School reunion at Welcome Cottage mid July for 3 nights. We came from all over England & Canada and the location was perfect, very close to town but situated away from the tourist crowds. It was absolutely ideal for us as we each had our own bedroom and all were tastefully decorated. The cottage is cozy with a charming lounge, large dining room and a beautiful conservatory. The kitchen is so well equipped for large numbers and leaves you wanting for nothing. I would highly recommend it.
6 'old friends ' met up for a reunion. We thought the house looked good, it exceeded all our expectations. Perfectly situated, a very short stroll from the village and absolutely beautiful inside and out. Nothing was missing, everything good quality. We were lucky enough to meet the owners who are as charming as the house. Would certainly return.
