“Great get away”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

Just got back from a nights stay at the dial house hotel. We were luckily enough to be there for the grand opening of the re-vamped restaurant. Cannot recommend highly enough. The staff were so welcoming and friendly on arrival. We had a table booked in the restaurant later that night. We sat down in the cosy lounge to receive complementary champagne, where we were given our menus to pick our meals. We had a few drinks in the lounge and was then called through to the restaurant for our meals. Can only describe the food in one word, outstanding. All of the waiters were friendly, professional and very polite. As I mentioned before the food was just amazing and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to any one and would defiantly come back again.

After reading previous reviews on the Dial House Hotel my husband & I booked 2 nights at the Dial House for our Cotswold's break. We booked a classic room and requested a quiet room with a shower. On arrival we were shown to a room without a shower by the hotel manager Ali. We informed him that we had requested a shower. Ali said that this was not a problem and asked us to wait in the lounge (coffee was offered) whilst he checked available rooms. Ali said that the only available room with a shower was a superior room which he was willing to offer us as complimentary. All this was done with a smile. What a star! The hotel is situated perfectly for all the attractions Bourten on the Water has to offer. The hotel building is gorgeous, our room was comfortable, the shower was great and breakfasts were probably some of the nicest we have eaten in a long while. Beautifully presented with a smile. The only downside for us was that dinner was not available on our 2 nights but Ali informed us that this was changing and dinner would indeed be available in the future. On checking out yesterday, the dining room looked lovely, all set for a fab fine dining evening. What a shame, just really sorry we had to leave and miss this. We will definitely return to this hotel in the future. Good luck to Ali and his staff, they deserve to be busy

Room Tip: Room 2 had a fab view

A super place to stay, lovely staff , but poor bar and no evening dining facilities important with the drink &drive law shame. Great location in a village where parking in the season is a nightmare . That said my wife and I will certainly stay again.

Paid £170 for a double room, incl breakfast. Room (in main house) was tired, with the tiniest shower room I have ever seen. Lounge area uninspiring, returned to hotel at 9.45pm (no restaurant), and front door was locked and public rooms in darkness. Breakfast nothing special. Truly feels like b&b. Summary: over-priced but in great location.

Just returned from a lovely night at The Dial House Hotel, right in the middle of Bourton On The Water. Staff at Reception were lovely, very welcoming and gave us a good tips about the local area. The room we had was in The Coach House, which was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with very good service and good food.

Room Tip: We had Room 9 which was in the Coach House and very comfortable.

We had 2 rooms over the last weekend for an event nearby. Check-in was friendly and the rooms were ok - we were in the very top floor of the main building. The rooms were nice enough, breakfast was ok and service was reasonable. Overall though I felt it was expensive for what you get. £170 a night should buy something pretty nice and I felt Dial House fell short. For example, cheap foam filled pillows are just not what you expect when paying this sort of money for a room. I also found it strange that they don't do an evening meal on Saturday night.

we have just returned from a few days at the dial house. Bourton on the water is truly a beautiful place. It has plenty of old world charm and character. The hotel is set very much in the middle of this setting with level walks in either direction. The staff here were excellent, helpful and efficient. Our room was in the coach house(9),it was a light airy room with a view across the chestnut tree green. The bed was very comfortable and the room well furnished. This brings me to the en-suite bathroom,we have stayed in some very plush hotels that have top star ratings, but this bathroom was on its own. Nice big bath ,plenty of room for two, where you can lay back and relax at the end of a long day. Then there is the shower, a true power shower,an absolute deluge. Breakfast was also excellent with a proper cup of tea,and the chef knows how to boil eggs to a turn. Is there anything we did not like?,well they do not do evening meals, but it does not matter because there so many places for an evening meal with in a short walk. so i give it 5 . we will we going back next year.
