Very good

Stayed here for one night in room 2 in this lovely old house. Great attention to detail and enjoyed a choice of teas in room and complimentary bottled water. Very comfy 4 poster bed with nice crisp linens. Bathroom was quite contemporary fantastic shower, fluffy towels and Molton Brown toiletries. Traditional style dining room where we enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Will definitely be back.

Just returned from a 2 night stay here and we really enjoyed it and being dog friendly was such a plus, the reception is tiny and since there was a group already checking in we were left out in the rain to wait which was not ideal, once checked in we found we had a big 3 room premium suite in the coach house which was perfect for us with the dog with plenty of space for her, I agree with other reviews that it's due a revamp in the rooms and parts are damaged and old fashioned but overall the room was fine! I've never stayed in a hotel that doesn't do evening meals before so that was odd and frankly a shame as the breakfasts was very tasty. The situation of the hotel on the high street was perfect and surroundings very well looked after and ample parking, staff were polite and courteous and always smiling and helpful so overall I think 4/5 is suitable. I would return and after hearing they are refurbishing soon it will certainly be great! Thank you

Hi christopherjhunt18

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very sorry to hear that you had to wait to check in and especially on a wet day.

We are starting refurbishment on the hotel next month and this will address many of the issues you have mentioned. I do hope that you will return to Bourton to visit us, and i would like to hear your thoughts on the work that will have taken place.

I will pass on your comments to the team, we look forward to seeing you again

Stayed here for 2 nights. Alex checked us in and couldn't have been more helpful. Had room 8 which was very clean, comfy bed, great bathroom, good selection of tea/coffee. Prosecco and fudge in the room was a lovely touch. Alex served us at breakfast the next day, he's a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was amazing, very tasty and set us up for the day. Special mention to Holly too and all the other staff whose names we didn't get, very helpful with advice, nothing too much trouble. Will visit again.

I arrived with my friend for a two night break the staff showed us to two rooms and carried my luggage which was appreciated. I had a small ground floor double with bath and my friend given an attic room beware no head space as you have to duck under the eaves to get into the room. It's a long story by my friend asked to change rooms and they offered an upgrade with its own garden which she was more than happy with. I asked reception to get someone to fix my light and shut my French door which had a big gap at the bottom. Although the staff are very helpful I was disappointed that it took a bad nights sleep in the cold with no heating and two requests to fix the door before it was addressed. They are currently upgrading the rooms and obviously have some teething problems like the jacuzzi baths did not work in both our rooms and the finish on the works is a bit rough in places. But overall the breakfasts are very good a negative with no evening meal option and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself is an excellent location and central to the village, there are lots of places to eat out and drink. Would recommend for a short break.

We stayed in this hotel for a one night break in August with our two dogs. There was a great deal of confusion around our booking and uncertainty from the hotel staff during the booking process as to whether they had a room that could accommodate our dogs (even though we had a booked a room including the extra charge for our dogs on-line). When we arrived the reason for the confusion became immediately apparent. The hotel has recently changed ownership and all of the hotel staff (with the exception of the kitchen staff) had only been working there for a couple of weeks. They were all really friendly, and helpful as they could be, but I really felt sorry for them, the situation that they had been left in. After we found this out, we were far more patient and understanding observing inexperienced staff learning on the job. This may have been off-putting for some, but my wife and I found their enthusiasm endearing. Our room was really in need of refurbishment, the hotel is looking more than a little tired, which is a shame. Breakfast was absolutely superb, the really are missing a trick not opening the restaurant for evening meals, as most certainly would have dined there.
