“A Comfortable and Restful Stay”

My husband and I stayed at Jason's for about 10 days while clearing up some personal business in the area, and looking for a place to "chill out", as Martin (one of the owners) so correctly said. It certainly fitted the bill.

The apartment is on one end of the owners' house, but has its own entrance and is completely private. Decent sized and comfortable sitting room, with TV, DVD player etc. And they thoughtfully provided very detailed instructions on using the remote controls. Small dining area and a bookcase full of a variety of topics, including everything you could ever want to know about the surrounding area.

Very well equipped kitchen along one wall. If you wanted to produce a five-course meal (I didn't) there was all the equipment needed for it. And the glassware, cutlery and crockery was of a very high standard - as was everything else in the apartment. The bathroom was roomy, and with a good shower over the bath and a glass surround, instead of a nasty shower curtain. There was even shower gel and shampoo provided. Mary apologised for the non-working underfloor heating, but evidently the lovely tiled floor would have to be removed in order to fix it. And my personal bathroom favourite - a big heated towel rail.

The bedroom had a queen-sized bed, with good night stands and bedside lighting. The pillows and mattress were extremely comfortable and the bed linens of good quality. Mary offered to change the linens after we had been there a week, but I did it myself instead. Roomy wardrobe and a dresser with plenty of drawers, one of which contained another batch of clean towels. Even a trouser press in the corner.

We spent quite a bit of time just sitting in the little garden area outside our front door. It caught the morning and early afternoon sun beautifully and it was very pleasant to relax, read or have breakfast out there.

The apartment is nicely situated in the small hamlet of Kineton, between the villages of Guiting Power and Temple Guiting, and about 8 miles from Stow-on-the-Wold. The local pub is a short walk away and the food, beer/wine and atmosphere are all excellent. We found ourselves spending rather more time there than we should!

Mary and Martin were excellent hosts. They gave us as much privacy as we wanted, and were very responsive when we required anything, which was not often. We felt as if we were "at home".

“Not exactly as advertised”
Reviewed 5 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Delightful, quiet and clean BUT: not located in Bourton-on-the-Water as stated, but rather, a tiny village some distance away. We arrived in B on the B only to be directed to a completely different village. However, our stay was wonderful and the hosts were most accomondating. The apartment was roomy, well-equipped and "homey". A few nice "starter" items such as cereals, bread, coffee/tea, etc. were provided. This is good because there are no stores in the village. There is a wonderful pub located a few hundred yards away with good atmosphere and superb meals. Thanks Tania! Lastly, the bed is not a king size but a queen size. Once you get the lay of the land the quiet location is a huge bonus. There are numerous other quaint villages to explore in the area.

Thanks so much for your review and sorry to hear you misunderstood our location. We wish you had mentioned it while you were here and we would have explained. The Holiday Lettings advertisement title reads "Holiday apartment Rental in Kineton, Bourton on the Water" and the first sentence says "tucked away in the sleepy village of Kineton". Holiday Lettings band all properties under a nearby town and that's why we mention Kineton for clarity. We specifically promote our location as being away from the hustle and bustle of Bourton and our confirmatory letter provides very detailed instructions on how to find us. Lastly, in the UK, a 5' bed is King Size. Queen size beds are only found in North America! But, we are both delighted that you enjoyed your stay and will pass on your kind comments to Tania at our fabulous village pub - the Halfway House (in Kineton!)

“This apartment is an excellent choice for a stay in the Cotswolds!”
Reviewed 27 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We stayed in Mary and Martin's lovely apartment for four nights. The apartment is immaculate, tastefully furnished, and thoughtfully supplied with everything you might need--including snacks, some breakfast supplies, and clear directions. Mary and Martin are very friendly and hospitable.
Kineton (the town in which the apartment is located) is tiny, but Stow on the Wold is 15 minutes away, and other destinations in the Cotswolds are close by. You do need a car, and don't forget a GPS!

“Fantastic short break”
Reviewed 20 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We chose the Cotswolds for a short stay to celebrate our birthdays. Jason's surpassed our expectations and was beautifully clean and welcoming. We were very fortunate with the weather too. We would recommend a visit to Jason's and it's warm welcome from it's owners.

“Easter Treat”
Reviewed 8 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

To spend Easter in the Cotswolds was delightful and to have Jason's Garden Apartment as our base for the 3 nights we were there was the icing on the cake. So cosy and clean with everything you could possibly need. Martin and Mary (the owners) were so helpful and friendly and take great care in making you feel comfortable and welcome without intruding on your space. Great place to stay and enjoy the Cotswold experience .

Jason’s Garden Cottage was everything we wanted.
We really enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable, quiet cottage. It was spotlessly clean.
Mary went out of her way to make us feel welcome.
We appreciated the breakfast pack with the delicious loaf of fresh bread. Thank you Mary for a most enjoyable stay. We would recommend your property as a perfect location to explore the Cotswold area.

“Rural hideaway in the Cotswolds--charming, well-appointed and perfect in every way!”

Jasons has everything we sought in a Cotswolds retreat--cute and cozy apartment with everything travelers require; charming and most helpful hosts in Mary and Martin; centrally located for short drives to major towns and also for long, quite, rural walks through the countryside; access to characteristic country pubs in every direction. We can't say enough with how pleased we are with this accommodation selection. Cheers!--Don and Nancy Smith, Portland, Oregon, USA
