“Luxury double room without luxury”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2014 via mobile

We spent 2 nights in the guesthouse..When we arrived nobody welcome us.Our key was in an envelope outside next to the main door..It was a bit unpersonal..Our room was ok but definitely not luxury. We were previously in luxury rooms and that was just a normal B&B double room with king size bed..at the first night it was so cold inside we ended up with sore throat next morning.I found a really old hairdryer which burnt after I started it.My husband opened the toilet window and when he closed he almost cut his finger with it because it stucked.Luxury for me little extras like hot water bottle, bathrobe, shampoo and moisturiser, up to date kettle and hairdryer, warm welcome at arrival and at least a bye at leave, wider selection of teas, metal spoon intsead of PLASTIC, up to date decor especially in bathroom. It was in a really nice area and staff was ok when we have seen them.

What a fabulous family get together in Bourton-on-the-Water. My Uncle chose and booked the Broadlands Guest House for this years family get together, and all 23 of us were very happy with his choice. The location is fantastic just off the main street, easy to walk to and from the pubs, restaurants, river and attractions (even with 2 year olds and a lady with a broken leg!) All the rooms were clean and comfortable, the family rooms weren't cramped as some can be, split over two levels everyone thought they were great. I would love to go back to Bourton and would happily stay at Broadlands again.

We are now checking out of this lovely guest house (sadly)! Our room was beautifully decorated, warm and cosy with a really spacious bathroom. It was so quiet at night that we slept like logs! It's great to have a lounge in case the weather is bad and breakfast in the conservatory was delicious. Marco the owner couldn't have been more welcoming. We would definitely come again, it is a 2 min walk to the high street or the other way down the road, again 2 minutes takes you to Birdland and the model village, it's a great location. Bourton on the Water is a beautiful place to stay and there is loads to do, great 3 day stay!

We stayed here in December and we had one of the rooms outside in the courtyard. The owner was so friendly and helpful, he really made us feel very welcome. It was a shame he wasnt around at breakfast! The room was nice but a little cold, we did ask for a heater, but i think this was forgotton. Breakfast was fantastic, very nice and they catered well for the number of people, as it was quite busy. I would definately stay here again!

We returned to this lovely guest house with our friends and stayed for 4 nights. This time, we stayed in the main house, our friends in the annexe across the courtyard. Slight hiccup on the first day which was the day after the Valentines Day storm. The electric kept going off and on in our friends' annexe room which was promptly dealt with by Marco in his usual upbeat manner. He had to call out an electrician and it turned out to be linked to a fallen fence damaged in the storm. Anyway all was fixed and no problems after. Marco is so welcoming and the place is spotless, warm and offers great breakfasts delivered with great service. Fabulous location in Bourton too, in easy walking distance of pubs, restaurants gift shops. Thanks again Marco - sure we will be back!!

Room Tip: We didn't realise but all the doubles are inside the main house and twins/family rooms in annexe...

Outstanding service in this well kept, comfortable guest house. The owner, Marco, is obviously passionate about what he does and it shows.
The room was clean and cozy and Marco gave an excellent restaurant recommendation.
Breakfast was cooked to order with plenty of choice.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this brilliant guest house from sat 14th till mon 16th december. We were welcomed very warmly by the owner, who was very enthusiastic. I have never had such a warm welcome from any where. Our room was lovely. Comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities, tv etc. Everything u really need in a room. Breakfast was lovely with a variety of food to choose from the menu.
The only negative thing i can say is the extractor fan in the bathroom stayed on for ages when you turned the light on. We found a solution, we just turned the mirror light on.
Lovely guest house and beautiful villiage. Definetly stay here :)
