We used the hotel for the earlier legs of our Cotswolds Way walk. It was close to the bus stations, restuarants etc.

If you are driving, this hotel has no Car Park and you will be directed to an expensive NCR Car Park; however, free street parking is available opposite the hotel after 6.30pm, before 8.00am and for 90 minutes outside this period. Accordingly, if you arrive after 5.00pm and leave before 9.30am your parking is free. I paid £52.10 for my double room, whereas the room price displayed at reception is £360. For what I paid this is good (see comment about breakfast) but if you paid the higher price you would be disappointed. Regarding the breakfast, I believe the hot food is deliberately made inedible to prevent people taking it. It consisted of scrambled egg (overcooked and dry) and sausages (virtually uncooked). From my table I could see a steady flow of people walking up, looking at it, and reverting to cold (cheaper?) items. As the previous reviewer said; you get what you pay for.

Holiday Inn Express is after all a budget hotel.

in this respect you get what you pay for at the Cheltenham Holiday Inn Express. It's clean, tidy and relatively modern but it is also no frills.

There is "air circulation units" in the rooms but this is not air conditioning. Our rooms were hot during the autumn ''heat wave'' in summer they must be stifling.

However the beds are comfortable, there is soap in the bathroom and tea and coffee facilities that you don't find in some budget hotels.

As an added bonus, breakfast is included. It isn't amazing but this is a budget hotel. It's hot, edible, plentiful and free. The croissants weren't that bad actually.

Overall I was very pleased with my stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

My wife has MS and is confined to a wheelchair. We have just arrived home to Australia after 15 nights at this very suitable hotel for anyone who may be disabled. The disabled room we stayed in was a very good size with a large bathroom/toilet area, ideal for us.The room has all the requirements for a safe holiday for all.Access throughout the hotel was very easy,no steps,no tricky bits and a disabled access bathroom on the ground floor as well.
We could not commend the staff highly enough,so friendly and so helpful,a real credit to this hotel. Our room was perfectly maintained throughout our stay and room cleaning staff understood we needed more time than most in the mornings to get going and we were never rushed. Breakfast was more than reasonable. The discounts at nearby eateries were always honoured and very worthwhile.Although unlikely to visit the U.K.again,our experience here would ensure we would seek a Holiday Inn wherever we might go

Room Tip: Rooms nearer the lifts as both lifts at same end location

This hotel is new, clean, comfortable and as you would expect for a large chain. Room was a good size, as was the bathroom, and breakfast was pretty good. Unfortunately the room was roasting hot and we didn't have air-con, however we did stay on the crazy heat-wave weekend at the beginning of October when it was about 29C outside - so in fairness to the hotel I think this was beyond their control due to exceptional circumstances! Well located for shops and restaurants and there is a multi-storey car park right next door which charges about £10 for 24 hours. As with any big chain hotel, it's not the sort of thing you're going to rave about as it's very "standard" - but I would definitely stay again for somewhere good value in Cheltenham - you know what to expect and you wouldn't be disappointed.

Very clean, reasonably well kept hotel. Best feature is its location which is excellent for the centre of town and beside an NCP car park. Staff were ok and struggled a little with conference/larger parties and werent overly helpful on my trip, but think they would be okay with the normal family or couple check in. Air conditioning was a bit noisy but it worked well and was appreciated. Breakfast about average for hotels of this standard but if you want value for money, good night sleep in clean surroundings you could do much worse.

Room Tip: I was on the main road side and didnt find this was a particularly noisy room.

From the moment we arrived in this hotel we knew we would enjoy our stay. The staff were friendly and efficient and the location was excellent, with good restaurants nearby.
The hotel was well laid out and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The bar was excellent and the staff who worked the bar were friendly and sociable.
I have hesitation in recommending this hotel and its' staff to anyone.
