As a regular visitor to Cheltenham, I thought I'd give this place a try, as it's recently been completed. Web site makes it look very attractive, but it's a mirage. Yes, it's new and it's clean and on the face of it well equipped. But the reality is nothing like as good. Firstly, appalling, impersonal services (seems to be a feature of this company if other reviews are to be believed). Access is via a code on the door and a coded "key box". FIne, except tehy didn't bother to give me this until after I arrived and complained - half an hour in a car park on a mobile phone is not what I need at the end of a busy day. Secondly, it's all been done on the cheap: furniture and fittings are of the lowest possible quality - cheap carpets with no underlay, plastic fiitings on the taps, which are already coming off, toilet seat already adrift, fittings already coming off the walls. Cheap, non-brand TV. The leather couches must have come from the "Land of Leather" clearance and were as hard as park benches - there was NOTHING comfortable to sit on at all. Beds are cheap and soft and soggy - not the comfy, feathery soft, the "sag in the middle soft" where your bottom meets the floor - impossible to get a night's sleep. Not helped by location on a busy traffic junction and double glazing that doesn't insulate the sound. The boiler was improperly fitted and produced no heating or hot water. A call to the company resulted in - NOTHING. No hot water for four days, AAAAaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhh!!! And then there is the car park - an alleged faciltiy at best. Tiny, far too small for the property, no manoeuvering room for anything other than a Toyota Aygo, with a mud bath in one corner, and normally filled with builders vans occupying all the space. There's no alternative but difficult, on street parking, and you may have to walk some distance.
Sorry, but this is a slum in the making, and certainly not worth the £90 a night - unless you are a squad of builders and cram 4 or 6 to an apartment when it becomes reasonably priced lodgings. And that appears to be its main clientele.
Oh, and the wireless internet is flaky, and there is no 3G signal from Orange in this location.
The standard in good quality accommodation in Cheltenham is set by the Beaumont House which is cheaper, much cheaper and in a completely different league in terms of quality and service. Do yourself a favour and try to get in there if you can.
