“A pleasant surprise on the edge of Cheltenham”

A lovely suburban park on the edge of Cheltenham, surrounded by fine Regency homes.
A typical park in many respects but its highlights are the two cafes, especially the Boathouse one. Recently under excellent new management the coffee is great. The location is tucked away by the boating lake accessed via the underpass.
Kids of all ages will love this park, and of course at the top of the hill is the famous Pump House.
Near the tennis courts, sandwiched between them and the road is a flower meadow, a profusion of whites and pinks and a real visual gem.

We were scrabbling around for somewhere to go with the family in the Gloucester / Cheltenham area and came across this park on the internet. We weren't disappointed. Lots to entertain the small ones. The lakes are beautiful and there's lots of space. We also hired boats for £6 for half an hour. Free parking at the pump rooms. Super.

I have loved this park since I moved to Cheltenham 7 years ago and have moved 3 times within Cheltenham since then - each time just that bit closer to the park! I love to run there and enjoy watching nature changing with the seasons. It's a great place for families, especially in the Summer - boats to hire, tennis and pitch & put, skate park, play park, chickens, rabbits, birds and chipmonks, plenty of green space, coffee shop, icecreams and of course the beautiful Pump Room! I am loving the new wild flower sections the Council have put it - absolutely stunning - thank you! I look forward to being a regular visitor for many years to come!

Having lived in Cheltenham for over 30 years, I am ashamed to say I have only ever visited the grounds around the Pump Room, never on the other side of the road. We have visited twice this week - the first time just for a picnic and walk, the second time for rowing on the lake. Boat hire is £10.50 for an hour, and the boat house also sells BBQ, fishing hire, tennis hire, pitch and putt and snacks, including lovely My Whippy's. I would give it 5/5 it if weren't for the amount of litter - people please clean up after yourselves!!

A very pleasant after-dinner walk, either along Pittville Lawn or via Clarence/Wellington Squares, from the town centre. Magnificent trees and vistas. Non-intuitive tunnel under Evesham Rd connecting the two parts of the park. Well woth a visit
