Having been shopping all day we wanted somewhere local and relatively quiet to eat. We popped into the pub and had the special board 2 meals for a tenner and have to say we had a great meal, homemade pie was tasty, chips were lovely and freshly cooked nothing microwaved. The bar lady was extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend, we enjoyed.

This is a pub with a restaurant at the rear. The restaurant area was clean and minimalistic. The waitress was very polite and friendly. There was a good choice of food and the portions were large but it was quite expensive considering the quality which was very disappointing. The cottage pie was very runny and had a strange twang and the turkey curry tasted like a frozen packet one. There were very few other diners considering it was a Saturday evening and it lacked atmosphere. This is not a place we would return to.

Tried this as it's 100 yards from the Cheltenham Park Hotel. It's a nice place with a homey feel. Lots of comfy chairs and sofas if you fancy watching TV or reading the paper but also set tables if you want to dine a bit more formally. Good menu at reasonable prices. Stilton soup and the mixed grill were both excellent and service was quick and attentive. If you're on expenses they can't seem to provide proper VAT receipts for some strange reason. Definitely worth a try.

I picked this pub / restaurant because it was close to the Cheltenham Park Hotel but mostly because it said the food was home made - not the usual home cooked meaning they've just warmed the food up. The front of the building is a pub where locals seem to gather and there is a large screen television which was showing BBC news and not the usual sports channels (thank goodness!). Beyond that there are tables and chairs for the restaurant. The soup was leek and potato and while this was genuinely home made it was a little thick and pasty and it seemed to be rather bland- maybe lacking seasoning. Had I not been told what it was I would have been unsure what the flavour was. For the main course it was home made lasagne . While it was fine it wasn't outstanding or memorable. It came with chips and salad. Staff were very friendly and welcoming . I spoke to a couple of people who had also considered eating there and had gone away. Both were confused whether it was a pub or a restaurant from looking through the windows. I had the same reaction and had walked away the first time. So maybe they need to think about how it is marketed.

We ate on a Friday night, earlyish, and we were the only people in the dining room.

Our waitress was attentive and helpful.

The food (we had a sirloin and a ribeye steak, and a child's lasagne), was generally very good, especially the ribeye steak.

Small things let the place down. The landlady audibly asked the waitress to tell us about the specials. Nothing so wrong with that, but in a pub which could clearly do with more business, and given that the landlady appeared only to be chatting to her regulars, coming over herself, saying hello and introducing the waitress might have made us feel very at home.

Also the condiments were in those annoying sachets which firstly don't contain enough, and secondly contribute to table litter. Why not have small pots of whichever sauces are requested, filled from catering size containers in the kitchen?

Despite those criticisms, we enjoyed the meal, whether we will go back again is not decided.
