Lovely owners, friendly and considerate.
3 Star Accommodation at it's very best in a great location.
Free parking just outside and a very easy walk to eating places, shops and a multiplex cinema.
DVD player in the room was a bonus during a lazy afternoon and evening 'recharging our batteries'
The shared bathroom was huge with a freestanding roll top bath plus a separate shower.
The room were immaculately and had obviously been created with much love and attention. So much more than the bland boxes we have come to expect of budget hotels.
Continental breakfast was delicious and included eggs on toast.
Considering that you struggle to buy breakfast in a posh hotel for the price we paid for the night we felt we had been treated to something special and a real bargain to boot!

Room Tip: We had the pretty floral room which is conveniently right next to the shared bathroom, but of course...

I booked the room as I needed to spend one night on my own in this part of Cheltenham, and this was at a good price. The room I had was one of two - what shall I call them? - adult-size Wendy houses, in the garden. Cosy and self-contained with en-suite facilities (though I couldn't get the water heater to work), and decorated with slightly eccentric African artefacts. Comfortable double bed and warm enough for me. I arrived lateish and was told the way into town to get supper; but be aware, this is not in the Cheltenham of elegant crescents and fine restaurants, more Victorian terraces, railway viaducts and grotty takeaways. My host, a Frenchman with several languages and a philosophical opinion on everything, was good company for breakfast, which was at communal table and very pleasant; indeed I was given scrambled egg to supplement the perfectly adequate promised 'continental'. Much more fun than a boring clone hotel, but may be a bit off-beat for some, and a lone woman would not like to have to find a nearby venue for dinner.

Room Tip: Wendy house was fun, and surprisingly quiet, but indoor rooms seem a bit more conventional.

I booked this hotel for the Cheltenham Festival, yes prices were inflated for the festival but then again so were every other hotel in the area, moral of the story is "If you dont want to pay over the odds, dont stay over for the festival"

The room was fantastic, ultra clean, comfortable and spacious, the bathroom, although it is a "shared" bathroom was again ultra clean and spacious.

It was advertised as a continental breakfast but i was offered the choice of that or a cooked breakfast, i opted for the cooked and it was spot on. The owner called me a taxi for my journey to the racecourse and as the first one was going to be 2 hours away she grabbed the car keys and drove me there in her car.

I only stayed the one night, but was told there was no rush to vacate the room, i sat in the kitchen with the family and had a good old chat and was offered mug after mug of tea which was awesome

The time to leave arrived and instead of me paying for a taxi or walk to the train station out came the car keys again and i was driven to the train station free of charge.

Nothing was to much trouble for these people and they really do deserve many years of success, when i return to Cheltenham i wont use any of the large chain hotels i will be straight back to the Alice Guest House

Awesome owners. awesome hotel

Room Tip: Ground floor room was next to the front door but was excellent

I stayed here for just one night and was made to feel very welcome. The room was lovely, well decorated and spotless! I had the room with a separate bathroom and it was enormous; lovely rolltop bath and really thoughtful vintage furniture in there too. The breakfast was great, more than enough to keep me going for the morning.
In all a lovely stay and I would definitely recommend it to others.

This was my first stay in a B&B ever - it was a really lovely experience and this stay has inspired more future B&B stays! Although the sink in my purple lavender themed room didnt work despite there being a kettle and tea available. The sheets were clean, and the room spacious and comfortable - felt right at home immediately! Slept like a baby. Wifi free and superfast. Had cereal for breakfast - I didnt see a 'menu' as such but was offered crossaints. Lovely host and would recommend - good value!

Stayed here for two nights in the wooden cabin in the garden. En suite room. Very clean, very comfortable and warm. Breakfast was continental only but good and the owners were very friendly and couldn't do enough for me.

I am staying at the Alice for the second week now and it feels like a home away from home. It is very close to the University of Gloucestershire where I am studying. The owners are very kind and accommodating and the price is reasonable. My room is sweetly decorated with roses and is warm and cozy. I share a bathroom but it works out just fine and everything is kept neat and clean. The breakfast is simple but plentiful. When I have a special request like heating something in the microwave or storing a bit of food in the refrigerator they are very helpful.

Room Tip: As a single woman I enjoyed the "rose room"
