Great hotel, really modern, quirky and original. They have tried to vere away from the standard in every aspect. You get free access to a local swimming pool too. There's a small amount of parking space, but there are roads nearby where you can park for free

Stayed here for one night. Had one of the feature rooms which was lovely. Spacious, well equipped with huge bath and excellent waterfall shower.Very comfortable bed but poor lighting above the bed which shone very brightly in your eyes not on your book! Good value ,nicely presented food but didn't like the i pad wine list which we found lacking in description and difficult to follow-Wine was good though!!Breakfast good but service a bit haphazard.Would definately stay here again, staff were very friendly and helpful.

I really had a lovely weekend here, but it was a little bit of a mix of good and bad! The good first... The hotel is lovely and situated right near Montpellier area great for walking into town. Inside it's ultra modern great works of art and a stunning sculpture for a check in desk. We had a lovely meal on the first evening in the theatre kitchen restaurant both having very nicely cooked steaks a good bottle of wine and great desserts.
The not so good, we arrived at 2.30 pm and were told the room was not quite ready, ok as it was 3pm check in but, we returned at 3pm and it was still not ready! So had to wait in the entrance with all our things :( they could have offered us a free drink while we waited but no we just had to sit and twiddle our thumbs. The room was nice but not as superior size wise as expected for the extra we paid but it does have some nice touches complementary mini bar and coffe machine great toiletries and soft towels and robes, there is also an iPod and I could plug my iPad into the tv and watch I player which was great. Very comfy bed :) but no room to get down the side of it! Breakfast was very nice and lots of variety but the service was all over the place, somehow it wasn't too bad as the staff are all so young and smiley but they forgot things and bought me something I didn't order etc. we also came back to find our room being cleaned about 3.30 pm when we had been out for the day which seemed a bit late! But a nice surprise later when we returned was to have had a turn down service on the bed,( we went to the screening rooms a very lovely tiny cinema next to cine world with leather seats and at seat service ) I would still go again but I think some things could be improved at this hotel timing wise with the service......

We stayed here on a bit of a last minute, late booking whim last Thursday night. We ended up stopping off in Cheltenham and having read the reviews we booked a last minute Spa Break for 2 in a deluxe room as i'd read that the standard rooms (and superior?) were a little small and having spoken to the hotel they suggested their deluxe rooms were a larger size.

To start the whole review off however I was nicely surprised to find on checking in that we had been upgraded to a feature room. There were clearly a few left over and the hotel shrewdly upgraded us and as a result the stay started with us already very impressed and feeling very welcome - a good way to ensure our business again!

We never saw the deluxe room but the feature room was superb. Extremely comfy bed, beautiful bathroom, shower and a lovely Villeroy and Boch stand alone bath in the bedroom. The room was dimly lit, tastefully done and a nice mix of modern with the old building style. If anything the room, shower, bath etc etc were almost too much for 2 people! For those worried about the bath we thought it was a great feature and has a discreet curtain if you wish a small amount of privacy - why you need this from you partner i don't know! The room also came with a nespresso coffee machine, free mini bar and the i touch in the room - all of these were superb and wonderful additions. Some people complain about not being able to move the i touch around the room but then why would you let some potential steal or damage it?!!

As part of the package we also had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the next day. All of the food we had was exceptionally good and very well presented and served by some very nice and attentive staff - my wife has been in catering and events management for years making her extremely fussy and even she was happy!! On top of that she also used the Spa (i didn't!) and she informed me it was very good as well with excellent treatments and good products.

All in all a lovely hotel, well located with friendly and helpful staff. I can understand that the modern side of it makes it less appealing to certain groups but as a young couple we thought it was excellent (i am fairly old fashioned however and thought they found the balance just right).

Fully recommend this place.

Room Tip: Go deluxe or above!

Stayed for a night in August for a special occasion, we wanted something a bit special and certainly got it with the Montpellier Chapter.

We went for one of the feature rooms, and were initially disappointed to not be given one with a bath in the room (not to everyone's taste but it was to ours!) so requested another and to their credit the friendly staff managed to allocate us another one, which was probably the best room I've ever stayed in.

Everything seemed to have been thought of, from the layout of the room down to the little touches like the iPod, or the ability to plug various devices in - though I suspect some may have trouble with working it all out, it took me a few attempts to get the sound working and I work with computers & AV equipment every day!
The free minibar was much appreciated as well, can't believe some reviews have complained about the lack of selection - it was free!!
The bath and shower were amazing, with plentiful free shampoo/shower gel - although some bubble bath would have been helpful too!

We didn't eat in the restaurant but did get breakfast in bed (seemingly at no extra charge to eating it in the restaurant) which was very good quality.

As already mentioned, staff werre very friendly and the whole atmosphere of the place was charming. Great location as well, easy walk to the town centre or to local restaurants/pubs.

I'm unlikely to find myself in Cheltenham too often but if I do I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to everyone - it isn't cheap but is well, well worth the money.

Room Tip: Go for a feature room for a small extra charge, they appear to be much bigger!

We had two nights here in late August and had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. It's well located, being a short walk from the town centre and nearby restaurants and bars.

The hotel has recently been renovated, and it's a great example of a quality modern hotel behind a historic frontage. We had one of the ground floor rooms, and were very pleased with the generous space standards, layout and facilities. The large bath in the open plan room was stunning and romantic. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was lots of storage, including a generously sized mini-bar with complimentary drinks and chocolate.

We failed to get the in room i-Pod playing properly, but I suspect that was our lack of techie-ness, and we didn't follow up with the staff.

We ate in the restaurant one evening and had a good meal there, and enjoyed a pre-meal drink in the lounge area.

I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stylish place to stay in Cheltenham, both as a perfect base for getting out into the city, and for somewhere to relax and enjoy the quality of the hotel experience.

Stayed here on their spa break offer. Modern and clean hotel with everything you could possibly need. Fantastic but simple spa although some of the treatments are a bit expensive. Definately coming back on another break.

Room Tip: We had a standard room - very big and comfortable bedroom, although the bathroom was smaller than ex...
