Description: A hidden gem on Harp Hill, The Hewlett is a great modern local pub serving cooked to order food and the best of local beers. Husband and wife Paul and Emma Gibbon welcome you with a cosy and relaxed atmosphere coupled with friendly service. We hope you will love the pub like we do and that our passion shines through.

“Lovely afternoon at the Hewlitt”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

Just spent a lovely afternoon at the Hewlett for a family get together. They gave us a splendid afternoon tea, beautifully presented and very reasonably priced. The decor was very attractive and the service friendly and efficient. Thank you

“Pleasant out of town pub”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

This is an unusual pub, decorated in a boutiqu style, but still retains a casual atmosphere. There are a number of benches in the garden (all nicely painted) and the interior very relaxing, but limited space. The menu is limited, but the quality and the price of the food is generally very good. My only criticism would be their garlic bread, which was no better than a supermarket would have provided!

Thank you so much for the lovely review and description of our pub, we really appreciate and welcome your feedback and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your meal. We have passed your comments on the garlic bread to our chefs and we hope to improve this in the future.

“Lovely pub and garden”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Popped in for a drink the other night and found the inside to be really good, with a small garden at the front. The food looked nice, but very plain, but as a location to stop for a drink, I would recommend it.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

Food ok. But will not be going to eat there again as this place has turned into a kids pub. They were running all over the place and no parent seemed to care about the people who had gone there to eat.
Staff were ok, 1 barmaid was quite curt to my friend.
The owners seem nice enough.
