This is a lovely little hotel. Our room was on the 3rd floor - a cute little gable room with 2 twin beds and its own fireplace. The beds were excellent, and everything was very clean. There is a sitting room on the main floor by reception where you can sit and relax with a full bar. Make your own drinks on the honor system. Very relaxing. The breakfasts were very good and service was excellent. The staff at the front desk was also extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is lovely from the outside. We stayed here for our wedding night. And booked a luxury
room. First impressions of the room, very nice, modern décor and very large room. But, we did
think that because this was our wedding night the hotel could have made more effort. Maybe some flowers or wine in our room, but there was nothing.

The bathroom was lovely to look at, but when we used the shower we had problems, firstly the showerhead would not aim straight, then when out of the shower the floor was covered in water.
Also there was no grip in the bottom of the bath and no grab rail so very dangerous.

Breakfast was ok, nothing too special, and we were lucky to read the information pack in the
room, which said breakfast does get busy. When we left the dining room we realised it was filling up fast and people were having to wait for breakfast, not very professional.

We would stop again but in a different room, although we do think the cost is too much.

Dear Shelly
We were disapointed to read your review particularly as we didnt have any idea that it was your wedding night - it was not mentioned on your booking. to address your comments - as far as the shower head is concerned it just took a minor adjustment to it but these small things are constantly needing attention so we do have a maintenance man who goes around each week - occasionally things slip through the net - apologies for that. We do however provide non stick mats in the draws of the bedside if people wish to use them in the baths. It is mentioned in the room information and I have checked there is one in the room you booked.

As far as breakfast is concerned we just like to warn people that occasionally on a Sunday if everyone comes to breakfast around the same time there can be a short wait to get people seated. This doesn't not often happen and on these occasions we do offer guests coffee in the lounge while they wait but it really doesnt happen often and if it does the wait would not be a long one.

We do hope that you will return to The Cheltenham Townhouse (maybe for an anniversary ? ) we are happy to offer you a preferential rate if you book direct with us and mention that it is a special day so that we can make sure you have a fabulous stay with us.

Regards

Stayed here last weekend as we were in Cheltenham for the National Brass Band Championships. I must say that this is one the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in.

We had one of the apartments (no 4) in the separate block and it was very spacious, very well equipped and very comfortable.

The breakfast was excellent, I had the smoked salmon one morning and the full English the next; both were a very high standard and the poached eggs are the best I have ever tasted.

The location is great and not too far from the centre. If I was to come to Cheltenham again, I would not hesitate in booking in here.

Just a one night stay here and didn't spend much time in the hotel but everything was really nice. It's a beautiful building, not in the best part of town perhaps, but very quiet when we were there and an easy walk into the centre. Our room on the first floor (no.10 I think), was a nice size, with a spacious dressing area and lovely comfy bed. Another plus, a good powerful hair dryer with a plug right by the dressing table - extra points for that! We enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast to order the next morning, my only issue would be that the window for breakfast and check out (at 10 a.m) is too tight. Allowing an extra half hour for breakfast (not 9 a.m) and an extra hour for checkout could make the dining room a little less packed and more relaxing. Apart from that a really nice hotel and pretty good value for the area.

I went away for an over night girly break with my friend, shopping, eating and drinking in Cheltenham and was really glad I chose this accommodation. It was very clean, modern and well equipped, the kitchenette area great, the bathroom clean, with good quality towels and the beds very comfy.
Breakfast was in the hotel as we chose the apartments, it was a little walk but worth it. I had a full English breakfast which was just perfect. It was a great short weekend break and I would definitely recommend and return.
The location was good and free parking on site was also a bonus. Cheltenham was a great location for our shopping trip and I especially enjoyed the Montpellier area to have food and drinks. We found the locals very friendly and more than willing to point us in the direction of the best bars and clubs. A great weekend.

Me and my mum had always wondered what it would be like to live in a terraced townhouse, with the feel of oldie-worldy wealth! Something that not many of us have the luxury of! Well, this beautifully preserved double-converted guesthouse lets you feel just that. All the feel of a Victorian home, with the added bonuses of 21st Century mod-cons!

We stayed at this hotel for two nights when we attended a family wedding in Cheltenham and as soon as you enter, you can feel the care and attention that goes into keeping this house special - a hidden delight.

Unfortunately for us, we arrived in what appeared to be some sort of typhoon (rain like never before and huge gusts of wind), but this was all forgotten once the doors closed behind us and we were greeted by, who we assumed to be, the proprietor, who led us into a lounge with ready-made pots of tea and coffee. Bliss!

The lounge room is located to the left of Reception and as kitted out with a full self-service [mini-style] bar (a fridge with beers/soft drinks/wine and wine/spirits on display in a cabinet), comfy sofas and an open fire. Complimentary newpapers and a selection of books are at hand if you just wanted a relaxing morning before commencing your stroll across the park/green and past the wonderfully refurbed Pump Rooms (where our wedding was taking place the following day).

I believe that the house itself is two Victorian houses converted into one and has two floors housing [my guess would be around] 12-ish rooms (with two more on the Ground Floor), all elegantly decorated with a homely, confortable feel. As for the beds...so comfortable, we nearly overslept and missed the wedding! (Something I don't think many people can say about a hotel bed!!)

Breakfast is included in the room price and caters for anything from a Full English to cereral to Continental breakfasts, with free-flowing juices and hot bevvies.

There is a patrons car park [free of charge] to the rear (my only 'grumble' is that discovering the car park is pretty difficult if you are not familiar with the layout of terraced streets such as these - which we are not!). There is, however, ample on-street parking for which you are able to have a permit for (enquire at Reception). Although, when I say 'ample', please try and remember that this is a residential street and trying to find a parking space (pretty much anywhere these days) can be arduous!

All-in-all, this hotel was pretty fabulous! Not cheap, but would Queen Victoria have settled for anything less? ;-)

Room Tip: All of the rooms at this townhouse are beautifully-decorated throughout! I wouldn't choose a ro...

Well located, short walk to restaurants and pubs, free parking on site, small but comfortable hotel style rooms, very responsive and cooperative service, great breakfasts. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: lower level easier for luggage
