A rather impressive restored Regency town house in a quiet, leafy street 7 minutes walk from the centre of Cheltenham. Lovely large reception areas, wow-factor art and an honesty bar. We were downstairs in the basement level, in an Executive Double that is sold as a good value budget room. It is! The basement room was large enough for comfort, contemporary decor, good bed linen, lots of hangers, enough natural light and good air-flow. The only downside to the room was any movement on the upper level was very audible. The loo and shower are rather snug.

Disliked the fact that the breakfast plates were cold and; the just-too-loud-for-comfort, Barry Manilow CD. The carpets leading down to basement are ropey and need replacing. Front of house service was intermitent.

Liked the fresh roses and good English breakfast that was served on fine bone china by courteous staff. Loved the ample parking. Would book it again when next in town for business, but would upgrade to the top level rooms.

We arrived to a lovely welcome and the room was both clean and stylish with a comfy bed. Especially delighted to discover no extra charge for parking or for broadband. The breakfast was enough to persuade me back time and time again. In short the place is fantastic.

We arrived (6 of us) and were greeted by an unfriendly receptionist and we struggled to understand her English. We were given 3 keys and went to check the rooms.
2 out of 3 rooms had no door on the bathroom but we just went with it and unpacked. We were put in room 56 at the back of the hotel by a fire door out to the car park. The freeview didn't work in our room and the towels were a little marked. It was slightly run down but ok.
My in-laws moved rooms as their radiator was broken and no-one bothered to tell them this. Considering it was the weekend that the country had lots of snow, heating would've been nice!
The other bedroom was ok, no problems as far as we were aware.
We asked to move rooms after the first night as we were woken very early by constant banging of the fire door used by smokers throughout the night and noisy foreign staff talking loudly. We were given a choice of three rooms on the top floor, so much nicer, all with doors on the bathroom and so much more space. The beds were larger and the shower worked better. That nights sleep was perfect at last!
Breakfast is quite relaxed, you just sit at any table and help yourself to cereals then you can have a full English if you choose. The best thing about the hotel is the location, in five minutes walk you can be right in the town.

Stayed here as was attending a friend's wedding at nearby Pitville Pump Room.

Car parking is around the back of the building, which can't be accessed from the front by car - best to let staff give you directions.

We arrived late in the evening and check in was quick. We were put in a room on the lower ground floor backing onto car park. I think it was room 17. Got ready for bed, got into bed, was lying down for 5mins and then this whirring sound started followed by a clunk. I got out of bed and discovered the room was directly next to the lift. We were staying for 2 nights so I knew straight away we had to move. The person on reception gave us a new room immediately, but not what you need after a long drive and having already unpacked etc.. In addition the cushions on the bed of this room were stained which is always a bit nasty.

The new room (think it was room 7 on 1st floor at front) was more spacious. However, I agree with the previous review about the ikea-type furniture. The toilet seat was unhinged on one side, the bathroom sink sloped so everything you put on the side slid off, the door frame needed a new coat of paint.... you get the picture... everything's just a bit tired.

Breakfast was ok, but nothing special.

front room was nice though and had nice Christmas tree.

I probably wouldn't stay here again purely because it was average so I'd like to give somewhere else a go.

I stayed here earlier this month with my friend.

Another one of my friends and her husband had also booked a room but had checked in the night before, they were shown to a room upstairs which ended up being tiny and no heating so was freezing! they were moved down stairs to a much better room! but this had put me off slightly.

But when i was shown to our room which was on the lower ground it was lovely, very warm and homely and both me and my friend both said they were the most comfitable beds we have ever stayed in!!!!

The breakfast was very good and filling.

Overall a very enjoyable stay, one of the best nights sleep i have had in a long while, they are very flexible with check outs which was good as my friend had a bus booked for 1.30pm so we were allowed to check out at 12.30pm.
make sure you either get a permit from check in desk for parking outside or park in the car park behind the hotel else you will get a ticket!!!

Would definatley like to stay there next time I am back in Cheltenham!

After following advice on T Advisor, we booked a room on the 27th September. Staff were friendly (But not to the point of being over enthusiastic) and the room was great. The decor was bright and cheerful, and the bed was super big and a little too comfortable. An added bonus was the TV/DVD, with a library of semi-recent films available in the hotel. (Possibly the owners own, less watched collection!) Also of great benifit is the hotels proximity to the town centre. Its an easy 15 minute walk to the high street and the new multiplex at the site of the old Brewery, so keeping entertained is easy. All in all the place was a great find, and we will more likely than not be back!

We stayed here for the weekend and had rather a dissapointing stay.
Public areas - lovely, very well kept, a honesty bar is in the lounge and breakfast is very good.
Our room - awful! Paint was peeling off the walls, there was alot of damp and mould round the shower and window, the shower didnt drain so you had to have a very quick shower before I flowed into the bathroom, the flush to the toilet kept coming off and a spot light was hanging down. The quality of furnishings was pretty cheap - ikeaish and looked worn. There was no bathroom door either - good job my boyfriend and I are comfortable with each other and it wasnt our first weekend away!
There was also another couple complaining at reception who had exactly the same problems. The owner lady apologised and reduced our room rate but this is something that could have been spotted well before our stay. Certainly wasnt a romantic weekend away!
